                              ~No one POV~

Lea was already awake at four AM, due to an enormous feeling of regret. She had used up all the time until 6:30 AM putting on face paint. "Lea... what are you doing?" Mason asked sleepily, watching Lea color her face from afar.

"It's the first day of Junior year, and I'm going to make a grand appearance" she responded. "Well, if you wanted a grand appearance, just wear something slutty" Mason said, fixing his hair. Lea paid no attention to Mason, and instead rushed into her closet. About five minutes later, she emerged holding a rainbow striped shirt with black pants.

"I just gotta change, and then I'll be ready" Lea said. She then changed and threw her clothes on to the floor. "What do you think would be a good accessory?" Lea asked Mason. "A playing card ring, a yin yang ring or a  ring with a knife ?". "Knife" Mason replied without missing a beat. "It suits you". Lea gently picked up Mason and gave him a soft kiss. "I'm sorry about last night". Mason nodded and started backing away from Lea's lips. "Put me down so I can change, even though I'm not gonna be visible at the school, I still want to be somewhat presentable" he said. Lea set Mason down, and she returned to fretting over face paint. It took another half hour, but Lea was finally ready.

-At school-

~Lea POV~

"It's like I can feel everyone's pupils on me" I tell Abdulah as we walk into the school. Last year me would be caught dead with him, but now that he knows about Mason, we've become sort of friends. Mason was currently in Abdulah's bag napping. Five minutes in to the school, and my bestie started running up to me and trapping me in a big hug. "Aria, let me go please!" I say, running low on breath. Aria let me go, but as soon as she saw Abdulah, her demeanor changed. She toughened up and simply said "why are you here?" while giving him a death stare. "I- I'm Lea's friend" Abdulah says, trying not to shiver. "We kinda met over the summer...." I say, trying to drag Aria away. "Oh really?" she asked, obviously not buying it.

"Yeah, now uhh... I'd prefer if we don't get suffocated..." I say, grabbing Abdulah's arm and pulling him away. "Anyways...." Abdulah says , removing his arm from my grasp. "Since advisory starts soom, and we both have the same advisory, I don't think anything needs to change". "Right" I say, opening the door to the classroom. "Well let's just hope I survive".

~No One POV~

As soon as Lea entered the classroom, all eyes were on her. She had a reputation for being the 'class psycho' and it wasn't exactly the best thing. "Yare Yare Daze" she muttered, finding an empty seat at the back. "You're used to this?" Abdulah asked sitting down beside Lea. She nodded and pulled out a hardcover manga.

Lea was peacefully reading when someone approached her. "Hey look! It's the girl with the death note said a voice. "Houston, that was five years ago, and it was an obvious fake" Lea said, keeping eye contact. "Watch out everyone , she'll kill you!" Houston shouted, causing everyone to laugh.

~Lea POV~

Why can't I ever get peace? You know what... fine. I calmly push down on my ring, causing the knife to pop out. "Careful what you wish for..." I say, smirking. Clearly freaked put, Houston stumbles back and returns to his seat , a minute later, the teacher comes in.

"Hello students, I am your homeroom teacher Ms.Yua but you can call me Ms. Y" she says. Now, let's take attendance. "Ab- ab-" the teacher stays stuttering. "It's Abdulah, and here" he says, rolling his eyes. "Ok then... next we have Aryuh, is Aryuh here?" Aria's face goes red from embarrassment but she speaks up. "Uhh it's Aria... and here". "Yeah yeah gotcha" say the teacher. "Finally, a normal name...Ryan?", the teacher says. The attendance is going smoothly, until she gets to Mason's name. "Is Mason here? Mason? Mason Kendrick?" After some silence, Houston speaks up, pointing at me. "He's not here, because he was murdered, by her"

Everyone's eyes turn turn my direction, and I feel their gaze. "I didn't do anything" I say, trying not to act suspicious. "Now now, it's not nice to accuse people" Ms.Y says, looking at Houston. She then continues with the attendance. While it seems like nothing is wrong, I can feel the teacher's gaze on me.

-BRRRRNNNNGG!-

"Class dismissed" the teacher says, opening the door. As soon as she does this, everyone bursts out of the classroom. "You ok? Abdulah asks me as soon as we exit. "Yeah" I respond. "This is just how high school is".
