Denise held onto her husband's hand as they were lead through the hospital by Demi, they wouldn't believe that Joe was still with them until they saw him with their own eyes. They would seriously do anything to get him back in their lives. Nobody knew what was going on around the world at the moment, nobody could explain but it seemed to be a miracle. That they get their loved ones back, Joe could finally live the life he should have done.
"Have they done any tests so they know it's him?" Denise questioned as they stood outside his room, there wasn't any windows or anything into the room so they could see him which was just making them more nervous. Demi sighed nodding her head, it was definitely Joe in that room. Not just because of the fingerprint test but also by what he knew. He knew some of her darkest secrets that she would only ever tell him, he wasn't just the love of her life but her best friend. She didn't need anyone else if she had him and her children.
"They took a fingerprint test when we got here, it's him but nobody has an explanation of why he is here. The blood test revealed that he is still twenty two years old, he hasn't even aged. When he turned up on my porch he was in the same clothes he was wearing when he and Kaylee fell. It makes no sense but somehow that's him in there." Demi explained.
"I-I just want to see him." Denise stammered Paul squeezing her hand a little more.
"I'll wait out here." Demi stated giving them both a hug before taking a seat on the chair next to the vending machines.
Denise and Paul entered the room their eyes landing on the man who was laid on the bed sleeping peacefully. Denise had her hand over her mouth as she let out a sob to muffle it out. He looked exactly like her son. She let go of Paul's hand making her way over to the bed laying her shaky hand on his cheek. He was real. Paul let his own tears roll down his cheeks as he closed the door standing next to his wife again holding her hand.
"It's him, that's my son. My Joe." She whispered and couldn't help but look towards his chest where you could see it rising up and down as he breathed softly in his sleep. They watched over him for a couple of minutes staying silent both of them deep in their thoughts about their middle son, thinking about all the memories they had of him. It appeared they could get a lot more memories. It was only when Joe stirred awake that they both cried a little more.
"Mom, Dad?" Joe mumbled his voice groggy from just waking up but he began crying too as his mother gave him the biggest hug she could.
After Denise and Paul spent some time with Joe they allowed Demi back into the room where she took the only seat left, next to Joe. He wasn't angry that Demi told his parents that he was still alive, he knew that he wasn't the only one who had returned from the dead. It was the only explanation that anyone could think of, someone who died twenty seven years ago to come back and look exactly the same wasn't something anyone could explain. What they seemed to be calling them were god's gifts and it was catching like nothing else.
"We have some more news." Demi breathed as she laid her hand on her flat stomach, Joe smiled too laying his hand on top of hers.
"You're pregnant?" Paul questioned Demi nodding her head.
"I think it's Joe's baby, I don't see how it can be anyone else's. Then again I can't see why it can be Joe's." Laughs filled the room but everyone seemed happy now that Demi was going to have a baby and they wouldn't know whether Joe was his or her's father until they were finally here. Everything seemed to be coming together, everyone now knowing that Joe was back and didn't plan on leaving again anytime soon. The only person they were missing in the family was a four year old girl who didn't come back with her father.
