Demi thanked Paul when he helped her lift the stroller up the small step into the house. It was Sunday and Demi had agreed to come over for a Sunday dinner with Joe's family, she knew her parents would be here as well. The two families were still close after everything that had happened between Joe and Demi. Demi really felt like she had two families, she knew she could go to Denise or Paul about anything if her parents weren't around, she could trust them with her life. She was the daughter they never had. Demi parked the stroller at the side lifting Adam out of the stroller allowing Paul to take him and carry him through into the living room.
"Hey baby girl." Demi breathed lifting Ella out of her car seat, the little girl was awake but content. Demi smiles kissing the small amount of hair she had on her head as Ella curled into her. Ella reminded Demi of Kaylee when she was a baby, they were so alike even their schedules of when they wanted feeding or changing. It was like they were the same baby. Demi made her way into the living room smiling at everyone who greeted her.
"How is Ella?" Denise inquired taking the baby from her.
"She is okay." Demi answered taking a seat next to Nick then laying her hand on her bump.
"Still no news about Joe then?" Kevin questioned Demi sighing nodding her head.
"The police haven't even tried to contact me, he's gone. I can feel it." Demi answered.
"It will be okay princess." Eddie reassured.
"We all know Joe wouldn't have given up without a fight." Paul stated.
"Well I'm gonna start dinner, help would be great." Denise stood up making her way into the kitchen after handing Ella back to Demi. Dianna following and Kevin. Demi knew that didn't apply to her, she was carrying a baby and needed as much rest as she could.
Demi sighed when she felt her phone buzz in her pocket again for the third time while they were all gathered around the dinner table. She knew that it must be important if they keep trying to contact her.
"What's wrong?" Nick questioned sitting next to her.
"Just someone keep trying to call me, may I be excused?" Demi inquired.
"Of course you can sweetie." Denise replied Demi standing up making her way into the kitchen where she knew she could take the phone call privately. She checked the caller ID to see it wasn't recognised but she hit the call button anyway holding the phone up to her ear.
"Hello?" Demi spoke through the phone.
"Hi Demi, it's Gary from the police force. I'm afraid to tell you we have found Joe's body, it was washed up again on the shore this morning," Demi held back her tears and the sob which wanted to leave her lips. "We're trying to track down who did this and we'll call again when we have some more information. I'm sorry for your loss."
Demi sat at the little table that was in the kitchen crying gently as she ran her fingers through her hair. She didn't want to believe that he was gone again and that the body they found was her lover's. She didn't want to believe that she would have to raise Adam, Ella and this new baby without their father. Life just wasn't the same without him and wished that he could just stay with him. She didn't even look up from the table when she heard someone enter.
"Demi are you okay?" She heard her mom's voice.
"No!" She cried breaking down, Dianna rushed to her side rubbing her back.
"What's wrong?" Dianna demanded softly wanting to know.
"T-They found his body again." She stammered through sobs, Dianna didn't say anything, just held her daughter as she cried into her mother. She let a few tears slip her eyes hoping Demi wouldn't notice, not only she saw Joe like her son but she hated seeing her daughter like this. She wanted her happy and bubbly girl back.
