Eighteen

Demi was sat on the couch both of her parents either side of her holding onto Eddie's hands as she cried gently. She had two police officers opposite her after she had called them as soon as Joe had left the house. She had no idea what was going on, what they were doing with him but she was so scared that they were coming back for her, or Adam or Ella and she had only just got her baby girl back. She just wanted Joe back and his company. They should both be in bed by now, Demi laid in Joe's arms as they slept peacefully. Demi knew she wouldn't be able to sleep now, she was too scared for her and her children who Dianna had already checked on. They were both still fast asleep.

"We were um watching telly when three guys just busted in, one man had a gun and held it towards me. They basically just forced Joe out of the house, I watched them push him into the back of a van and was able to get their licence plate." Demi explained leaning over passing them a sheet of paper then holding back onto her father's hand.

"That's useful actually, can you remember what they looked like?" Gary, the male police officer questioned Demi sighing slightly.

"I think I probably could if I saw them again but other than that no." Demi sobbed a little more into her father's shoulder Dianna beginning to rub her back gently. She didn't understand why this was happening and what Joe had done to deserve this. She didn't want to think about what they were doing with him right now.

"That's fine, I am right in saying he is a returned?" Gary questioned Demi nodding her head. "There are a couple of people in town who aren't happy with people returning around town, most likely because their loved ones haven't come back, it could be them but we'll run this licence plate and see what we can find. Someone will contact you as soon as we find something." They all thanked the officers then showing them out before they all sat back down.

"It will be okay Demi, they will find him." Dianna reassured sitting down on one of the chairs as Demi laid down on the couch laying her head on her father's lap.

"I only just got him back." Demi mumbled but cracked a small smile as Eddie started to stroke her hair gently trying to calm her down a little more.

"And he'll be back soon because the police will find him." Dianna reassured but Demi didn't know whether that was true or whether to believe it.

Joe tried to block the hits and punches that were coming his way with his arms but his arms just got most of the impact rather than his face or body. He continued to wince even after her didn't feel anymore, he opened of his eyes to see the three men stood around him. He relaxed his muscles laying down flat as he felt his body become weak. He was too weak to even react to a kick which came his way, he would go through this all again if he knew Demi was save at home.

"What do you want?" Joe choked slightly when he got enough breath and strength to speak, the men just laughed at him forcing him up again pushing him out of the van. He looked around him to see the cliff that he had the accident on but grunted when they forced him up again.

"You should be dead, if you hadn't have come back everything wouldn't have been messed up like it is." He heard a voice say as they begin to lead him over.

"Please don't, I have a family." Joe begged slightly but was finding it hard to keep his eyes open, feeling his body giving up and just wanting him to fall unconscious.  

"Tough luck!" He heard another voice say as they got to the edge of the cliff.

"Any last words to say?" He got questioned but he stayed quiet not having the energy to speak back. "No well then." He was pushed off the edge of the cliff again too weak to even attempt to save himself. His last thoughts before everything went black was Demi, she was at home now worrying about him and she would now have to raise three of their children by herself. He didn't want to leave her again not after he had just come back.
