IT WAS AN ORDINARY DAY. Well, asordinary as it could be with Umbridge reigning terror over the castle, her decrees popping up everywhere, and dictating every move of the students and teachers of Hogwarts. It was supposed to be an ordinary day, but nothing was ever normal when someones surname was Black.
Ascella Black was walking along the halls of Hogwarts with Ron, careless and rambling about every idea that popped into her mind, when Ron cut through her sentence, brows furrowed and a pinch between them.
"Are people looking at you more so than usual?" Ron asked, staring around oddly. Ascella frowned, following his eye movements.
"I don't think so," she shrugged. "Maybe it's the hair?"
"It's the same as usual," Ron pointed out, looking at her wild curls.
"Then, I dunno," Ascella said, not bothered in the slightest. There was always something the students of Hogwarts found to talk about, whether it was about her, or Harry, or the both of them. It certainly wasn't anything new, so her nonchalant attitude to it wasn't unusual to Ron at all.
That was, until, Ivory Reyes, someone who's hardly been Ascella's biggest fan since first year, approached them both menacingly, Ascella and Ron's footsteps faltering as she stood in front of them, peering at them in a way to look intimidating. Ascella shared a discreet glance with Ron, who fought back the twitch of his lips at the glower Reyes shot them both.
"So, Black," Reyes taunted, "you've done it again. Merlin, this must be a track record for you."
Ascella rose a brow. "I'm sorry? I've got not clue what you're on about."
