IN SPITE OF HER USUAL DISTASTE FOR DUMBLEDORE, ASCELLA HAD to admit, hiring a centaur, with the full knowledge that Umbridge had a severe distaste for their breed, was genius. She had to give it to him — Dumbledore could be rather incredible at times. Firenze was an interesting character, and his methods of teaching went against Trelawney, and what he taught too. Lavender and Parvati, who were Trelawney's biggest fans, found their like for Firenze dissipate rather quickly when they realised how Firenze didn't agree with the same ideas Professor Trelawney had.

If it had not been for the D.A. lessons, Ascella thought she would have been extremely unhappy. She refused to think of Caelum — where he could be, what he was doing. It was much to agonising to dwell over it entirely, knowing there was nothing she could possibly do. It wasn't in her hands anymore, so she found no reason to mope over it.

In their next D.A lesson, they were practicing Patronuses, which Ascella found rather hard to do. It was the memory part of it all that was causing her to blank, unable to find a strong enough memory that could suffice. It wasn't as though she didn't have any memories, because she did, she just wasn't able to find one that had the sort of strength that could of muster up a Patronus. She had tried, two years prior, when they were attempting to shield Sirius from the Dementors, but she had been injured, and extremely weak, that she could not do it. Ascella realised that it was a common misinterpretation to assume casting a Patronus was easy.

"Can't think of a memory either?" Theo asked her, and Ascella sighed, shrugging.

"No," she answered. "I mean, I've got memories, just none are coming to mind right now."

Theo nodded in understanding, and Ascella glanced at him, "What about you? Nothing good enough?"

Theo shook his head, tawny curls bouncing as he did so. "Nah. I didn't have the best childhood, as you can imagine. So, thinking there isn't of any use. I'm trying to remember all of the ones from Hogwarts, but it's a bit of a blur."
