THERE WAS A SENSE OF APPREHENSION lingering in the air of the Slytherin dorms. It permeated the room and made it so incredibly suffocating that it was a struggle to breathe. Ascella felt a chill down her spine and a smile threatened to pull on her lips at — despite the tension — the humorous setting was hard to ignore. She knew she shouldn't have found mirth in the moment, but it was difficult to remain stoic with the dramatics of Theo Nott.

"I'm not going," he stated, firm and unwavering.

Ascella scoffed as she placed his clothes in his trunk — if she didn't do it, then there was a high likelihood that he wouldn't either. "You are. My mum's already made up a room for you and got out the finest china plates." She turned, raising her brows, a pair of trousers clenched between her grip, "And you wouldn't want to upset my mum now, would you?"

"Bullshit," Theo shot back, and he smartly remarked, "You told me your mum only ever eats with her finest china, how could she have gotten it out just for me?"

"Ah — that's where you're wrong," Ascella rebutted, her back to him once more. "This tableware she found hasn't been used since the seventeenth century. And you know what she said to me?" Theo's inquisitive stare stood out amongst the emerald accents of the Slytherin dorms, and Ascella went on, smirking discreetly, her voice switching to the rather posh and slightly French one of Seraphina Laurent, "'Ascella, darling, what does Theo like to eat? Does he mind if I use the blue china rather than the white? I know it's only Christmas dinner but do I need to get out my recipe book instead of Molly's?' Seriously, she didn't stop."

"Are you trying to make me feel bad?" Theo asked, a frown tugging at his lips.

"No," Ascella sighed, halting her movements and turning to face him yet again. "I'm just telling you that she really does want you there and it isn't just a courtesy. You're welcomed there."
