Today you were finally allowed to go to school, so you decided to surprise everyone by showing up unannounced. I mean, what could go wrong?

After getting dressed, you walked outside to find out your friends had already walked to school without you. To be fair, it probably wasn't their fault because none of them knew you were coming.

As you were walking down the path, you spotted a teal haired boy facing your direction. Your eyes locked with his then you soon realised who it was.

"Xiao!" You called out to him, running towards the guy to give him a big hug.

"Get the fuck off of me." His eyes were frantically scanning the area making sure to looking everywhere but you. He looked almost flustered.

"If you really didn't want me to hug you, why didn't you just push me away?"

"Shut up."

"Anyways, why are you here? I thought you would've gone with the others." You questioned.

"I thought i was gonna be late because Zhongli was taking his sweet sweet time in the shower this morning, so I told everyone else to leave without me." Xiao added a bitter tone to his words. "To my surprise Zhongli actually finished in the bathroom on time"

You and Xiao had a nice chat on the way to school, it was refreshing finally being able to go outside. Though Xiao's behaviour was a bit odd. His face would heat up at the smallest things like : your laugh, your smile, heck even when you started rambling on about random things. He would listen to every stupid thing you had to say and smile to himself.

Normally he would cut you off telling you how dumb you sounded, but today was different. He definitely smiled a lot more. Then you realised how he was acting weird on text too, you ignored it at first but his odd behaviour really startled you.

Instead of thinking too much, you decided to just ask him.

"Xiao, why are you acting so different today?"

"Different how?" He questioned.

"You're smiling a lot more, and you haven't insulted me once!"

"So?"

"So? What do you mean so?! There was never one sentence that came out of your mouth without words like 'dumbass' or 'idiot'. At this point it was basically my nickname." You ranted

"Stop making such a big deal out of it." The teal haired boy frowned at you.

"But it is a big deal. Oh my god, did my disappearance do something to you?! Are you having Y/n withdrawal symptoms?!" You touched his forehead in a joking manner but your action resulted in the poor boy's face turning bright red.

Xiao instantly backed away from you looking all flustered. "Shut the fuck up, I'm fine nothing happened."

"Sureeee." You gave him a suspicious stare.

Once the two of you finally arrived at school, you parted ways to get to your homeroom's. After that whole Mona incident, she never bothered you again. I mean I can't really blame her after what you did to her face.

You saw Scaramouche (with a grumpy expression on) siting all by himself, probably upset because you weren't there.

"Hey Scara." You crept up behind him to surprise your boyfriend.

Instead of romantically jumping into your arms as you whisk him away to a fairy magical land to have three kids and live a happy ever after like you imagined, Scaramouche slammed his hands onto the table, nearly falling backwards from how much you startled him.

Many eyes stared in your direction, wondering where that loud sound came from.

"Y/n what the fuck." He panted like you just gave him a heart attack.

"Pft-" You desperately tried to stop yourself from cackling like an ogre but to no avail. You burst out laughing, holding onto the table for support. "Oh my god Scara." Tears were forming in your eyes as you crouched down onto the floor because your stomach was hurting too much. "I-I can't breathe."

"Get up you idiot, people are staring." The indigo haired boy glared down at you.

"I've never seen you so scared in my life." You finally stood up and sat on the chair next to him.

"I was not scared." He faced away from you. After a minute of silence to calm down, he spoke again. "I didn't know you were coming today."

"Oh yeah about that, I wanted it to be a nice surprise." You smiled.

"Nice surprise my ass." He mumbled.

"I have good news, it might cheer you up."

"Hm?"

"My father doesn't mind me dating you anymore, well actually he does but he really can't stop me." You put your hands on your hips proud of yourself.

Scaramouche chuckled finding your little celebration adorable. "What do you mean by that?"

"I may or may not have blackmailed him, but the details don't really matter."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes I'm sure, anyways do you wanna hang out after school?"

"Alright."

"I have something to ask you, has Xiao been acting different recently?" You questioned. To be completely honest Scaramouche was probably the worst person to ask.

"I don't think so, why do you ask?" The indigo haired boy raised an eyebrow

"No no reason."

"Well there is a reason because you asked me."

"U-Um well uh he never mind, I'm probably just overthinking it." You gave him the most reassuring smile you could muster up, hopefully enough to convince him.

"Okay I'll stop bothering you."

You sighed from relief after hearing those words. Soon after the homeroom teacher came in and started talking so you the conversation ended.

Your next lesson was history where you'd to sit next to Xiao. During class you couldn't help but feel a pair of eyes staring at you, you turned your head to realise it was Xiao dozing off. As soon as your eye's locked with his, he instantly sat up straight with wide eyes. You noticed his face turning red again when he shifted his focus to the teacher instead of you.

Was Xiao still in love with you?

You quickly shook your head, taking that thought completely out of your mind. The truth is you didn't want to believe that your best friend may or may not still have feelings for you. If it turned out to be true, Scaramouche would be very angry, who knows what he would do. Maybe you were just being self centred, Xiao was probably just kind to you after all that had happened. The world didn't evolve around you after all.

Once you also faced the teacher, you caught sight of Scaramouche furrowing his eyebrows in your direction from across the room. He definitely saw that.
