I woke up slowly and saw Zaire laying on top of me awake

I rubbed my eyes and yawned before getting up slowly

He sat up and got down and walked away I followed him into the kitchen and made him some breakfast

Which he barely touched

I pulled out my phone and saw that it was almost 12

Last night had me really tired for some reason I even forgot to give him his night bath

I called Namil just to talk to him

N: hello
S: hi mil
N: wsp wyd
S: I'm about to give Zaire a bath because I forgot to last night
N: oh alr
S: wyd
N: talking to you
S: but what are you DOING
N: nun really I get out soon I believe
S: I miss you
N: you say that now
S: no like I actually do the house feels empty and to quiet
N: yea but I wouldn't be here right now if I didn't make the house loud and chaotic

The call continued as I cleaned Zaire up and took him out his chair I threw away his plate and washed my hands

We went upstairs getting ready for his bath we still remaind on call with Namil

I walked in the bathroom setting everything up and turning on the water

When it finished filling up i stopped the water and put some of his toys in

"Come on Zaire" i called out I waited for awhile and he didn't come

"Zaire it's bathtime" i said he came and stood at the door frame looking down

I grabbed his hand attempting to pull him close to me but he pulled away

"What's wrong Z" i said kneeling down and picking him up

I got his pants off and left his pull up he had to use the bathroom

After he finished

I took his shirt off and was met with one of a mother's worst fears

Namil continued talking on the phone but I didn't respond because of what I was looking at

I turned him around so that his back was facing me my heart ached as my eyes grew wider

"Namil I- I gotta call you back" i said hanging up the phone

"How didn't I notice these last night"

"How could i let this happen"

"I should have listened to Namil"

"Why do I always have to give the benefit of the doubt"
