A/N: don't come at me for spelling mistakes or sentences not making sense, I wrote this chapter half asleep.
I hear my doorbell ring and look at the time.
He's 3 minutes early.
I spray some perfume on and go to answer.
Luckily my dad isn't home right now so I don't have to worry about my night.
When I open the door and I am met with Noah wearing jeans and a brown hoodie.
"You ready?" He says.
I nod and he leads me out to his car.
"You look gorgeous," he says while opening the door for me.
"Thank you," I haven't been to the diner in ages for any other reason except work.
The car trip is silent but slightly comforting.
Obviously when we arrive Noah opens the door for me again.
"You can buy anything, it's on me," I smile at his kind gesture but I can't let him pay for everything.
He leads me inside and we take a seat near a window.
"What would you two like" The waiter speaks.
"Can I please have a burger and chocolate milkshake, what would you like Lily?"
"Chicken nuggets and a lemonade please."
The waiter leaves and I hear Noah mumble something.
I give him a confused look.
"Sorry it's just you still order the same food."
Our food comes surprisingly fast and we get lost into conversation.
"So why did you move here?"
Noah looks up at me and finishes his mouthful.
"I've been everywhere Lily, I searched the states for you." My face goes pale and my heart drops.
"It's only been four years though..." I say quietly.
"That's a long time Lily. To me at least."
What do I say...what do I do?
Before I can get words out a person barges through the door.
"Oh hey guys, coincidence seeing you here"
JAKE WHAT THE FUCK.
Jake grabs a chair and pulls it to our table.
"Having fun?" He whispers looking at me.
Psychopath.
"Oo fries" Jake says taking a few fries from Noahs plate.
Noah looks up awkwardly into my eyes and I give him an I don't know look.
"Are you ok? You look cold" Noah says taking off his hoodie.
Jake also starts taking his hoodie off.
Noah passes his hoodie to me but before I can grab it someone else has.
Jake throws Noahs hoodie across the diner and gives me his.
Is he drunk or something???
"Only 7:14 guys, how about we ditch this place"
"Jake, we're kind of here for a reason" I say.
"Ohh no is this a date? I didn't know" he smirks at me then starts to stand.
"How about a walk to the beach?"
Noah and I send each-other a glance and before I can say no I hear a faint sure coming from Noah.
Great.
"I just need to go to the bathroom" Noah announces.
Noah walks towards the back and I pull Jake outside.
"Jake what the fuck?!"
Jake looks down to his hoodie on my arm.
"Put it on, its cold outside dumbass"
"No"
"Mils," His tone is warning so I decided not to fight with him tonight.
Noah joins us outside and we make our way to the beach.
I let the boys walk ahead and it's the first time I've seen them talk like human beings.
I sit down in the sand and they come to sit by me on each side.
The moon is very beautiful and lights up the ocean, the air is fresh and the night is silent.
I lie onto my back and look at the stars.
"Look those ones are shaped like a blob fish" Jake points out and I giggle at his comment.
Jake rests onto his elbows and looks down at me.
We stare at each-other for a good ten seconds and then remember Noah is next to us.
I look at my phone to see it's almost 8:30 and my dad gets home at 9.
"I have to go" I stutter.
"I can take you" Noah says.
"No my car is closer," I look over at Jake, I really do need to get home fast.
"I'll just go with Jake, thank you Noah for this amazing night, I really enjoyed it."
Jake stands up and holds a hand out for me to grab.
As I'm walking towards his car an arm gets swooped around my shoulder so I look up to be met with Jakes face. Very close.
"Do you like him Mils," I take a minute to think.
"We had quite a past Jake, and all of a sudden he's back. I don't really know what's going on right now."
"Okay," is all he says.
"Okay?"
"Yeah, okay" the rest of the walk and the whole car ride is silent. Him and his thinking again, it's so frustrating.
We pull up outside my house and I have three minutes before my dad gets home.
"Thanks for the ride" still silent. "Are you going to say something or..."
"I don't like him." My eyebrows furrow and he slowly turns his head towards me. "He gives me bad vibes Mils, be careful."
It seems of lately I've been at a loss of words.
I nod my head and exit his car.
It seems like a good time to read another entry.
Fits the mood you know?
I grab the journal out and once again start reading...

Dad hasn't been here in four days but my nice neighbour has let me stay with her, it's the closest I've felt to having a proper family in a long time.
The mother treats me very well and feeds me every meal.
She even took me shopping because I didn't have many clothes.
Her name is Beth.
Beth said if I needed help I could go to her any time.
The boy has also been very nice, he plays soccer with me and teaches me some piano, he's very good at the piano.
He walks to school with me and hangs out with me at lunch when no one else does.
His name is Noah and he's really nice! You would love him.
His eyes are dark blue like the ocean and they sparkle sometimes, just like yours did.
I don't know how the people at my school are allowed to have parties at 14 but I got invited to one.
I'm doing good in school because you were always saying how focusing on myself and my work is the most important thing in life.
I even tried out for the soccer team.
Noahs dad is sick but Noah says he will get better soon and Noah has a ten year old sister who gave me a makeover, it didn't look the best but she was very happy while doing it so I just let her.
I got a little worried about my dad yesterday, there has been no contact from him but Noah came to sit next to me and he gave me hug telling me how I would be okay. Noah then took me to this cafe down the road which had the best chicken nuggets ever!! I wish you could taste them Grannie they're heavenly!
Before dad disappeared he kept bringing up moving, I don't want to move anymore.
I like it here. Well maybe not here, in this town here but I like being around Noah and his mother, they make me feel safe.
I miss you more than ever.
