15 - room 12

I give my bag to the teacher and she throws it into the bus storage.
The beach trip came sooner than expected.

"Millllieee, you're gonna sit with me," Ryan announced while pulling me towards the bus doors.

I look back to see Noah staring straight at me, he's been acting really weird lately, it kind of scares me.

"Mils make sure the seats across from you guys are free so that Devin and I can sit in them!!" Jade squeals.
I glance over at Devin and realize he and Ryan are giving each other looks, almost disappointing or guilty looks.

"Jade, can I talk to you?" She gives me a hum of approval and follows me around to the other side of the bus.

"Are you and Devin official yet?"
She sends me a sigh.

"No, it's really weird, we act like we're already dating but he hasn't asked me to be his girlfriend yet."

Hm. Strange.

"Ok students everyone please take a seat on the bus!" The teacher in charge yells.

A bus ride is a bus ride. Most people are listening to music and eating, some are sleeping, talking, all the usual things people do on bus trips.

"Ok everyone the room lists have been sent out, it's 2 per room. The place we are staying has a big kitchen that everyone shares, if you want to put food in there you can just make sure you label it. There is one large bathroom per gender and one for anyone who doesn't specify as either. All the rooms are next to each other, boy's rooms are on the left side of the hall when walking in and girls are on the right. You will be sent a code for your room so please do not share or lose it, If you do come to a teacher and they will tell you it." One of the teachers explains.

"When we arrive this afternoon we will just be settling in. Tomorrow breakfast starts at 8-10 am and we will heat to the beach at 11. You can go to other people's rooms but you have to be back in your assigned rooms by 10 pm and please be responsible. We will have to check at 10 so you are all accounted for, there is no set time you have to be asleep but please be awake by at least 9 am. We will arrive shortly."

Feels like sixth grade with all these rules.

I quickly check to see who I'm rooming with.
I graze my eyes over the safety email and look for my roommate and code.

'Amelia, you will be in room 12 with Alana T. Your code is 9103. Do NOT share this code.'

Oh, Alana, I think everything will be ok.

I turn around to Jake who is sitting behind me.

"Who'd you get?"

Slowly he rips his eyes away from his phone and sighs dramatically.

"Noah."

I try to hide my giggles.

"I'm sure you and your boyfriend will have lots of fun," I tease.

The bus comes to a halt and we all look out the windows. On our left is a beautiful resort and on our right is the ocean.

"Ok before we collect bags just quickly meet the staff," Insists our teacher. We all shuffle off the bus to meet a rather handsome man that looks a few years older, maybe 2 or 3.

"Hey everyone my name is Oscar and I'll be helping you with anything you need around the resort. Firstly I'll quickly explain the main buildings.

Over there in the first building are all of your rooms, at the end of the hall with your rooms there is a lounge/chill area for you all and a connecting door to building two which is the kitchen and eating area. Building three has bathrooms and showering quarters. Lastly building four is where the main office is and your teacher's rooms.
