Four Years Later:

Year 849

During the past four years, the Scouts have done countless expeditions, yet they haven't made much progress. They still haven't found the Colossal or the Armored Titans, nor have any more attacks happened on another city. Erwin became Commander, with Miche and Hange becoming two of his Section-Commanders. Tessa and Levi were the Captains of the Special Operations Squad and Humanity's Strongest and Graceful Soldiers. With the five leaders, they had restored hope in the Scouts. Over four years, Levi and Tessa created their squad. They managed to find four soldiers that matched them in the field. Eld Jinn, Petra Ral, Oluo Bozado, and Gunther Schultz. While Tessa wanted Levi to be the one to lead, Levi changed it to be where they both had equal decision-making in case they disagreed on the task. The four members followed and looked up to the duo, though they never said anything to them about it. The one that admired them the most was Petra. While Tessa inspired Petra by being graceful in the heat of battle and her caring nature toward patients, Levi was a whole other story. If Petra didn't help Tessa in the hospital ward, she would follow Levi like a little puppy. Levi ignored it because the only girl to have his attention was Tessa, yet he didn't want to admit upfront that he loved seeing Tessa get jealous.

Tessa and Levi have been together for four years, yet they keep their relationship secret, with only a few people knowing. Erwin, Miche, and Hange are the only three who know, but they remain quiet. As long as Tessa and Levi can do their jobs as Captains, they have nothing to worry about concerning their relationship.

Tessa's POV:

While sitting at her desk overlooking the enormous pile of paperwork, thanks to Erwin, Tessa deeply sighs as her blue eyes glaze over them. She had been in her office all morning and was unaware it was already settling into the evening duration of the day. Tessa taps her foot against the side of her desk while biting her lip. After becoming Captain, she thought the paperwork wouldn't increase, but she was wrong. Tessa puts the papers down to rub her eyes at the endless words, signing, and reading. She pops her knuckles next to get the feeling of returning to them. Tessa sighs while working out the kinks in her back in time to notice a letter on her desk. She was used to the amount of fanmail from citizens in the cities. Some were children and families, while others were love letters from men and women. Tessa laughed when she remembered the first love letter she got. It was a man declaring his love for Tessa and wanting to marry her. She gagged because it was so cheesy, but she knew she had to show it to Hange. Of course, in true Hange fashion, she showed it to Levi only to make him irritable. It did, but what made it better was Levi's eye twitching before he crumpled it up. Hange, Erwin, and Miche teased him for days about it, yet they occasionally do it now and then until another love letter reaches Tessa's desk. 

Tessa stands up to finish undoing the knots in her body before she opens the impending letter on her desk. She takes a deep breath while running her hands through her ebony hair. When Tessa picks up the letter, she notices the seal on the back. It's the Cadets seal. "What the hell?" She mutters while opening the envelope to read it.

'Tessa,

I hope you are doing well, as I heard you are now a Captain in the Scouts, also, Humanity's Graceful Soldier. I know it's a little late to congratulate you on the promotion, but you deserve it. Erwin did the right thing in promoting you after I left, along with Levi. You two make a mighty team to lead hope and trust in the Scouts and humanity, which is why I am writing this letter to you. I would like you to come and teach the Cadets I'm training. They need to see what becoming a soldier is, and what better way to learn from you? You still hold the highest rank among all of the Cadets, but there is someone close to breaking your score.
