The Following Morning
OOC POV:
The morning light slowly peaked through the curtain-covered window as the two Captains slept. Their bodies spent from the training and making up for lost time since they decided to have their wicked little game. The aroma of sex, strawberries, vanilla, pine, and mint filled their small cabin, along with steam from the scalding water from the shower, which they didn't leave until it was ice cold. Even with their bodies exhausted from training hours before, they still had energy for other things. As the sunlight peers over the railing of the curtains, it hits one of the Captain's faces, which pulls them from their peaceful sleep.
Levi's POV:
Before I open my sleep-filled eyes, I can feel the warmth of the morning sun hitting my face. I raise my hand to block the blinding light slowly etching into the cabin as I prevent my vision from being blinded. However, I stop when the sweet aroma I love wafts through the air with slow, relaxed breaths touching my bare chest. I see Tessa's hand resting on my chest, with the other under the pillow her head is on as she sleeps. Her long ebony-colored curls with the sliver wing peeking through are displayed around her body. I gently run my fingers through the ringlets covering the necklace to see if they would straighten out, yet they bounce back to their original shape. I smile because even though Tessa hates her curls, I love them. After all, these are what make Tessa her. I continue to play with her hair until I spot the bitemark I had left on her collarbone last night. It is starting to turn purple and scarred, which I fear will be permanent. Even with the reassurance from Tessa that it was okay, I still felt guilty for it.
After what happened a few years ago, I promised myself I wouldn't hurt Tessa again. Whether with my words, secrets, or my touch, I wouldn't let her shed another tear because of me. Yet, I went against it, but no tears had fallen from her beautiful sky-blue eyes. I gently rub my thumb on the mark, which makes Tessa slowly stir in her sleep, and I pause my movements. I watch Tessa shift to where she is resting on her other side and smile to see the rest of her ebony curls. After knowing that Tessa won't move again, I wrap my arm around her waist as the other holds her hand under the pillow. I hear Tessa hum as my face nuzzles into her neck as she sleeps until I feel her delicate fingers touch my hand. I smile before gently kissing her neck, "Good morning, beautiful." I whisper, and Tessa giggles, "Good morning, my love." She replies before taking my hand to kiss it. The soft feeling of Tessa's lips touching the roughness of my hand makes me lose my train of thought as I watch her place my hand around her waist again to trace her fingers against it. I smile again before I kiss her cheek, "How did you sleep?" I ask, with my voice still laced with drowsiness. Tessa softly hums as she rests her head against my shoulder, "Perfect, though my body is a little sore from last night." She confesses, and I gulp before pulling her closer, "I'm still sorry about that, Tess." I admit then I bury my face into her neck again.
Tessa realizes that she must've misspoken and turns in Levi's embrace and cups her hands on his face, "Levi, look at me." She pleads, but Levi doesn't look at her. She knew that Levi still felt guilty about what happened after she returned last night. Tessa reassured him it was okay, yet Levi couldn't stop blaming himself. Whenever she looked at him, his stunning storm-colored eyes would stare at the mark on her collarbone with his thumb slowly rubbing her hipbone. Tessa had lost count of the times they had sex because it felt like they were in their own little world, not caring about what would happen the next day. Yes, her body was sore, but it didn't matter to Tessa because being with Levi was perfect, and she didn't want it to end. He is the only one who can make her go weak in the knees, her heart beat out of her chest, and she feels serenity just by being in his arms.
