TW: TALK OF ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP!!

Third person pov:

Penny was in the car, halfway to the airport, when she got an unexpected, but hoped for, text from them.

British: Why did you change my contact name to British.

Ramen: Why did you change my contact name to Ramen.

British: Touche.

Ramen: What're your pronouns, I don't want refer to you as they/them anymore.

British: he/him. You?

Ramen: she/her.

British: :O WOMANNN!!

Ramen: Wow, sexist much? What do you have against women.

British: Nothing. I just need to screenshot this to prove to my mates I could actually get a female's number that I wasn't related to.

Ramen: Ok-

British: Brb.

Penny looked up from her phone and realised they were at the airport. She put her phone in her backpack, slung it over her back, and grabbed her suitcase before thanking the uber (I've never used an uber, so if they pay in person she also paid.) and going walking into the airport. She grabbed a couple more snacks from a nearby shop along with a pillow in case she decided to get some sleep, then made her way through security.

(Penny lives alone even though she's 16. And decided to move to the UK since its been her dream since she was a child.)

The plane would be taking off soon, so Penny hastily took her seat and took a quick photo for Twitter.

Penny smiled as a bunch of positive comments rolled in. She texted British that she was going to be offline for multiple hours and to not text her, and she got a reply of okay. Rolling her eyes and smiling slightly, she put her phone on airplane mode, then put it away.

Fast forward ten hours (idk the distance from Ohio to Britain so bear with me.) and Penny got off the plane, feeling exhausted. She hadn't been able to sleep AT ALL. The plane engines were extremely loud, and the constant fear of the plane possibly crashing gave her too much anxiety to sleep.

Outside the airport, Penny leaned against her suitcase while waiting for her uber to take her to her new house. She felt her eyelids get heavier before fluttering closed altogether for a few seconds. She quickly opened them. She had to stay awake or she would miss her uber.

She spotted the red sedan (why was that the first car to come to mind-) A few minutes later, and jogged to it as fast as her exhausted body and heavy suitcase would allow, before throwing the suitcase into the trunk and getting in the backseat.

She leaned her head against the cold glass window, trying to fight the fatigue that was affecting her. If she fell asleep, there was a chance the driver could kidnap her. Sure, he looked like a nice middle aged man, but you could never know for certain. Looks can be deceiving sometimes.

She had learned her lesson about that after her last boyfriend, Jared. He had seemed nice at first, complimenting her, giving her small trifles all the time, and her friends liked him too. But then, he started getting more moody and snapped at her.

She ended the relationship the day he first hit her. It wasn't much, just him dragging her aggressively after she asked if he was taking her anywhere special for their one month dating anniversary. She had had a red hand mark on her wrist for a week.

He had begged her for another chance for weeks, but she refused. He moved away to Russia and she never saw him again. Good fucking riddance as far as she was concerned.

She was interrupted from her thoughts by the uber's deep voice saying they had arrived. She grinned at him before thanking him (paying him if you pay ubers' in person) then received her suitcase from the trunk and turned to face her new house with an optimistic grin.
