odette keller lived a humble life in dawn city, new jersey. she had a fiancée, an amazing apartment, successful journalism career, and two cats that constantly loved on her. life was absolutely perfect, and then, overnight, everything changed.

odette was at a party one night with her fiancée located at the abandoned, haunted cathedral. drunkenly, she fell through the floor inside the church, landing in a chamber filled with hieroglyphics and phases in egyptian. she was confronted by a sorceress named miriam, who transported the spirit of the enchantress from her resting place and into the journalist.

the enchantress wreaked havoc on the party, killing everyone—including odette's fiancée. at the end, odette took back over, and after realising what had happened, she went into forced exile for a few years. the enchantress would come out on command from her host, though sometimes she takes over when she deems if necessary.

odette longed to find ways to separate herself from the evil entity, but there was no hope; any time the enchantress was separated from her host, she became mentally unstable, for jume was able to keep some form of sanity for the both of them. the enchantress refuses to let odette go, claiming that she is stronger with the host than on her own.
