anthony scott jr. is the eldest son of the original bluejay by the same name and michelle torres.
tony parades around ardor city, new mexico, at night as bluejay after his father's untimely demise on the job. anthony scott sr. was killed by a drug cartel near the mexican border, and ardor city went three years without a hero to protect their city. gang activity went wild, and drug-related crimes spiked to an all-time-high. the police department admittedly missed the aid that bluejay provided.
michelle torres begged her son not to take up the mantle, but there was an outcry for help from ardor city's people. tony originally took his father's old suit and went after the drug cartel that had murdered anthony scott sr. driven by rage, tony began a ruthless mission of ridding ardor city of all of its drug-related crime, leaving a nasty taste in the public's mouth—for this was not the bluejay they wanted.
an old friend of his father's eventually told tony that he wasn't going to avenge his father's death by brutally murdering every drug user and gang member he got his hands on. with the hero's current reputation, the police department was beginning to hate him, and he was losing his favour with the people.
the words of wisdom stuck, and tony eventually ditched his father's old suit in favour of a new one that he hand-crafted himself. tony has spent the following years trying to rebuild a relationship with the police department, deciding on leaving his victims unconscious so the police can take them rather than killing them. so far, it seems to have worked, and the bluejay's favour with the public has grown stronger again.
