Keigo's POV
I arrived at the address that was sent to me. Surprisingly, it only took me three minutes to get there. I opened the door and saw a man in a black suit and black pants.
"Hawks, glad you could make it."
"What's my assignment?" I questioned, getting straight to the point.
"Please come into this room."
He totally ignored my question! Anyway, I followed him, and my eyes widened when he opened the door.
"Hey! It's you!"
The rabbit hero and another person were sitting in two chairs. I should have greeted her back, but I was too busy thinking of why we were all gathered here. The door slammed shut, and the man who led me here started talking.
"Good afternoon, heroes. Today, we have a very special assignment, that you all will be working on together."
"Groupwork? I don't do groups." The rabbit hero spoke, standing up.
"Me either," I added.
"This is a very important mission! So important I had to call 2 top-ranking heroes for it! Doesn't that say something?"
I sighed. He was right, but I didn't really know about the other man who was there.
"As I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted, this is a very important mission. Before I start, please introduce yourselves, starting with Mirko."
"I'm the rabbit hero, Mirko. My quirk gives me the abilities of a rabbit." She explained, before sitting back down.
Damn, why is she...
Woah, snap out of it Keigo!"Next. Izanagi?"
The man sitting next to Mirko stood up and started talking.
"My name is Izanagi Takahashi. I'm the leopard hero, Tiger. My quirk is pretty self-explanatory. I'm new to this hero stuff, so yeah..."
I couldn't tell if he was overwhelmed or not because he mumbled every word. I decided to act cocky and ask, "Aren't leopards and tigers two different things? You could have been a bit more creative."
"I'm still working on it. Please, call me Izanagi." He hissed.
"Whatever. I'm the wing hero, Hawks. I can use my feathers to do anything." I explained.
From the corner of my eye, I saw Mirko open her mouth like she wanted to tell me something. I'm guessing she backed out.
"Now that we know each other's quirks, I will explain the mission. We've obtained a bit of information on a few people in this city. They are suspects for kidnapping, domestic violence, and arson."
He turned a projector on, and the screen showed three men. The first one had curly black hair, brown eyes, and scars all over his face. The second one had brown hair, blue eyes, and a cigarette in his mouth. The last one had brown hair and brown eyes but had the ears of some sort of animal. They all looked like they were in their forties.
"So, you want us to stop them?" Izanagi asked.
"Yes, since there are three villains, we called three heroes. This is a secret mission, so you can't tell anyone else about this. We've already investigated their identities. Now, we need someone to quietly execute them."
He placed one folder in front of us.
"These are files we've obtained on the villains. We were able to find out their quirks, except one of them. We also know where their base is."
"This will be so easy! Where is it?" Mirko shouted, eagerly.
"Patience. The location of their base is an hour away. The closest house near the base is fifteen minutes away from it. You'll be staying there for this mission. We already have all the arrangements set, so you can start heading there."
I was a bit confused. How secret was this mission?
Mirko and Izanagi looked a bit confused too.
"W-Wait, so why did you call heroes with animal-related quirks?" Izanagi asked.
"I have a feeling the villain's quirks also have animal-related quirks, based on their appearances."
"Okay, but why me? I'm a new hero, and I'll probably mess up! I can't work with these two!" Izanagi added.
"Calm down. I'll be doing most of the work anyway." Mirko responded.
I rolled my eyes. She was so confident, wasn't she? Does she want me to remind her about what happened yesterday? How she almost got killed by a minor villain? How could she take out this one?
Anyway, we were given the location of the house when we were done with the meeting. Before we started heading to the location, we all went to our houses and packed some clothes.
I was about to call Endeavor and tell him about my mission. Then, I remembered that it was a secret mission, so I didn't call him.
I decided to take my car and pick Mirko and Izanagi up. We all exchanged numbers, so I called them and asked for their address. After I picked them up, I started driving to the house. The whole car ride, Mirko and Izanagi talked about a bunch of things. Whenever I wanted to talk, Izanagi cut me off. He was doing it on purpose, but I didn't notice or care at the time.
It felt like I was driving forever, and we got a bit lost on the way, but we finally managed to get to the house.
"It looks abandoned," Mirko spoke, as soon as we entered the home.
"Smells weird too," Izanagi added.
It did look a bit abandoned, but I didn't care. We weren't gonna be here forever. I decided to take the bedroom downstairs. Mirko took one of the bedrooms upstairs, while Izanagi chose the one next to her. We all had to dress like normal civilians, so we changed out of our hero costumes.
I noticed that whenever I asked Izanagi a question, he would always ignore me. It kind of pissed me off. I finally decided to confront him about it.
"Oh yeah! I saw the sports festival on TV! Turns out-"
"Izanagi," I called.
He turned around, and rolled his eyes, before turning around and continuing to talk to Mirko.
Mirko finally noticed this, and said, "Uh, I think Hawks is calling you."
"Oh! I'm sorry!" He apologized, turning around, "Yes, Hawks?"
"Why do you keep ignoring me? We're teammates, so we shouldn't be ignoring each other, don't you think?"
He didn't respond. All he did was look in a different direction.
"Anyway, we should probably start obtaining information tomorrow!" Mirko exclaimed, trying to change the topic.
"Y-Yeah! I'm great at investigations!" Izanagi added.
I yawned, before looking at the time and it was pretty late.
"Well, time for me to get going. Night you two."
Besides, why was I so mad Izanagi was ignoring me anyway? Not like I care. And I know I have a lot of feathers, and people think I probably don't notice when one is gone, but I do. One of my feathers is missing. Where did it go?
