When I'd managed to stop coughing, I'd decided to call it a night. I hadn't even told Peter I was leaving but he followed me like a cat when he noticed. He hadn't even said bye to anybody and just started walking.

We don't talk once as we walk. I walk in front of him and he follows, hands in his pocket. He almost looked completely sober. Had I not seen him drinking earlier, I would think he hadn't drank at all. It was scary.

He didn't even sway or stumble or misstep as we walked through the woods. While I, the sober one, fall and trip on almost everything possible. He didn't so much as blink my way and sped past me, making it through.

He was acting weird now.

But why?

-------

When we finally get to the car, I check for Niko, who I'd long forgotten about. Peter Pays no mind and settles himself into the passenger seat.

Niko is still in the back, in the same position and still asleep. He snores loudly and clutches the remainders of the stolen alcohol. I knew I was going to have to clean my car out but I had to clean it out now. It reeked of alcohol and whatever Niko stunk of.

"Niko you idiot." I whisper to him, wiping his forehead off and putting him in a more comfortable position. He was still buckled up and contorted into an impossible looking position.

I wonder why he still comes if he won't even be able to actually party. Two times I've witnessed him pass out on the way to some party.

My mind drifts off to Summer and Niki as we're driving. They hadn't texted much today nor had they called. I saw some more pictures online but nothing more than that.

Summer had apparently made some friends in the neighborhood of the rental and had been hanging out with them. Niki was also doing her own friend-making with other volunteers. I was jealous scrolling through instagram and of the pictures they sent.

They looked like they were having fun and I was here, driving Niko and Peter back home. I was bitter about not being able to show Niko the quarry properly but I was glad I'd met Amber.

Before we left I made sure to say bye to her. The guy from earlier was long gone but she was enjoying herself with another. I'd found them standing around the keg. I smiled at amber when I got closer, she smiled back brightly back.

The guy was much better looking in my opinion, and nicer. He had dark hair that he swept back constantly,Beautiful hazel eyes, freckles sprinkling his entire face, and a big bulbous nose that suited his face. He was handsome in a interesting way.

Amber and I ended up trading instagrams and I was back to chasing after Peter up the path.

She called after me, but I don't hear it as I whip past to catch up to Peter. I just wave over my shoulder and pray it wasn't anything important.

I sigh.

"Is that all you can do?" Peter breaks the silence. "you haven't turned any music on, you've done nothing but sigh, and we're in the middle of butt fuck." He complains.

I let what he said settle in for a couple seconds before I reply. I glance at him and then bucket the road. He was being serious.

"It's Bum fuck, Peter. Not Butt fuck." I explain. Peter just sighs and turns to me.

"I'm pretty sure it's Butt Fuck." He says simply. I stay silent in disbelief.

He truly believed it was- Incredible. He'd just graduated and all this was telling me was that he needed one more year. He was absolutely and utterly a complete dumb ass. Yet here he was, trying to convince me I was wrong and he was higher up than me.
