I didn't wake up until about four the following afternoon. My bones ached and had me groaning and rolling over all night. Something about carrying a one hundred thirty pound teenaged boy really messed your body up.
Something about all of last night had bugged me but I couldn't quite pinpoint it. It was lying on the tip of my tongue as I lie awake. The mattress and duvet was warm and comforting but for some reason my body wouldn't allow me to sleep. I'd just stared at the blank ceiling, waiting for an ounce of drowsiness.
But it never came. I did eventually fall asleep but I drifted in and out. Only waking up for a couple seconds before falling back asleep.
I didn't fully wake up until about six. Which was when Niko had bounded into my room and jumped onto my duvet covered body. He didn't offer so much as an apology for jumping directly on top of me or a thank you for last night before he started firing he questions.
"So you ended up going to the party last night, huh?" He asked, wiggling his eyebrows.
Last night I wouldn't have noticed but in the afternoon sun I could see that the boys from last night did indeed try to chase him out. He had faint bruises on his face, scratches on his entire body, and some scrapes here and there. When I asked him about it, he shook it off and told me not to worry.
I scoff at him, rolling over. "You wish. I came to drag your sorry ass back home. Spent over an hour trying to look for you." I mutter.
From my position I could see the digital clock on the nightstand. It said six thirty-six in the green digital writing. I closed my eyes and willed the rest of the day to end. It was hard to believe I'd slept through the entire day, especially when I usually get up at a certain time. Most days.
Today was not the day.
He laughs at me. "Awe you actually care about me. How sweet." I scoff at him. Sitting up finally because I know he wasn't going to leave me be. "By the way, What happened? I remember being in the backseat and I remember Peter Nixen?"
I look at him with the blankest face I could muster. I had forgotten about Peter and that whole mishap. Niko mentioning his name gave me goosebumps and let last night invade my mind.
"Yeah." was all I said. And when Niko tried to dig for more, I changed the subject. "So, why exactly did I find you at this party? You know your sister wouldn't let that slide."
Niko didn't even have to say any words for me to understand. There was somebody he liked there. He wanted to see her. I could tell as he flopped down on the bed with a smitten look in his eyes. He'd already told me everything, with one look.
While he had his secrets, I had mine and we were fine with that. What I wasn't fine with was this ever growing hunger making my stomach rumble. I hadn't eaten all day and dinner time was fast approaching.

"I'll take two bacon cheeseburgers with extra onions extra cheese, one vanilla milkshake, one Oreo milkshake, and a large fry with extra ketchup and extra salt."
"Oh! and while you're at it can we also get-"
The waitress shoots Niko a dirty look that shuts his mouth instantly. I chuckle at him from across the table and he looks after the waitress, her black uniform disappearing behind a swinging door. I could see her sighing at our order, knowing he was going to be a lot to handle.
