-Summer Break-

We had exactly four periods, out of our usual eight periods, the last day of school. During fourth period, I had English class with Summer. Niki was in World History right down the hall.

I'd filled in summer during English while we did crosswords and cleaned out our desks. She listened quietly and waited her turn until she was certain I was done.

She started off slowly. "So." She pauses. "You're telling me that the Peter Nixen saw your perfect Boobs?"

She squealed the last part out a little too loud, which got a couple heads to turn at the word 'boobs'. She waved them off quickly and told them to mind their business. I didn't even care she was being loud at this point, I just wanted to forget that it even happened in the first place. I wanted to forget the last twenty-four hours.

"Unfortunately yes. Do you know that Senior, Dylan?" I ask her.

She looks down at me from her desk and puckers her lip thinking. Finally she nods and gasps rather loudly.

"Dylan Hilton? The one who made out with-"

I wave my hand at her, cutting her off. I shake my head. Dylan Hilton was another Dylan, not the one that hit me with a balloon. This Dylan was-

"Oh my god, Spinelli?" She squeals, covering her mouth and widening her eyes.

I nod yes, but walk to my desk. I didn't need to hear any gossip about anybody. Much less about Dylan. I didn't care about him and, quite frankly, I didn't care enough to listen. Today was definitely not my day.

Summer seems to notice it so she tones it down a bit. That wasn't going to keep her from talking about it though. She asks many question with the remaining of the period. Questions about things that didn't even come close to happening, about summer, about what she should pack for the summer trip.

I just wanted the day to end. I needed it to end.

After English class we all had to go to the "End-of-the-Year" assembly in the gym. The entire student body was to be filed into the hot gym, where we'd spend the last two hours cheering and playing dumb games. I absolutely hated it.

So, Summer,Niki and I had snuck out of the school and headed for the parking lot. The two who were leaving had about three hours before they had to get home. So three hours will be well-spent.

We all file into summer's car, since she's the one who drove today, and drive to the mall. Summer had talked about getting some new swimsuits and a 'sexy' pair of underwear. Niki and I rolled our eyes when she said that. Summer didn't even noticed and bounced along to the poppy song playing.

When we were finished at the mall, Summer drove us to my house, where we spent the remaining two hours. Even though summer's phone was blowing up with her angry mother, she insisted she didn't need to go. I knew she had to go pack, but she felt bad. This was supposed to be niki. Niki was the one we were going to go last minute shopping for, not Summer. Summer was supposed to stay here with me.

It almost made me want to cry, but I knew if I did, it'd make them feel guilty.

"You totally have to send pictures Summer. Colorado has the best views."

Summer flips her golden hair and winks. "I'll be the best view out there, baby."

We all giggle at that and they turn to me.

"And Charlie, this is for you." Summer says. Her and Niki look at me excitedly.

In Niki's hand, there was a black bag with red tissue paper poking out. I look at them with a suspicious look. They were being weird and they both knew it. When I take the bag, they look at each other and giggle loudly.
