I was up way before he was. The broad, blank sky, chilled me and left goosebumps all over me. Still, I didn't move because of the brute beside me.
While we weren't precisely tangled up in each other, his head leaned over onto mine, keeping my head firmly on his shoulder. I could already feel the soreness building the longer I leaned against him.
Still, despite the pain in my neck--literally, I enjoyed the warmth he radiated onto me. While the chill wasn't enough to have my teeth chattering, the slight breeze has me shivering and almost curling into his side.
We were already close enough as is. My bare thigh was flush against his, my shoulder dipped down comfortably to mold to him, our sides pressed firmly and as close as we could get.
When I'd originally woke up, I couldn't help but want to scoot away and crawl back inside. Inside to the unused bed that wasn't on the roof. But then I realized I couldn't quite do that with the asshole beside me's head on top of me.
So that brings me to currently. I'd just opted to pretend like I wasn't trapped and decided to just watch the sunrise. Until that also didn't work out because I had no clue what time it was. All I knew was that I had no phone, I'm cold, and I've been sitting here for god knows how long.
Perhaps if I try once more?
I had just woken up and my strength was only at half capacity. Maybe now I was able to shake his dead weight off and I could climb into bed. My warm bed.
I stole a glance up at him, only able to see his mess of hair, and tried my best to wiggle my shoulder ever so slightly. He replies with a groan and I feel his head loll to the side, completely leaning against the slanted roof and slightly off of me.
I almost cheered at that, but repressed it when I realize I'm finally able to escape from the roof.
I gently, gently, lift his head with my hand until I can maneuver out from under him and sit up. I feel the soreness in my neck fully now. I curl my lip in annoyance and lean his head against the roof so he's sitting slightly slanted, but still upright.
However, that doesn't last for long because when I go to back away, the asshole finally wakes up. I hear him mumble my name groggily behind me.
I close my eyes and lower my head in annoyance.
I didn't want to explode on him, I didn't want to explode on him, I didn't want to explode on him, I didn't want to explode on him. I didn't want to ex-
"Where are you going?" he rasps, his voice thick and scratchy. "Were you watching me in my sleep?" Pause. "You creep."
I didn't even have to turn around to see the lazy smile on him. I could hear it in is words and I, unfortunately, know him well enough to know his antics at this point.
I was frothing out the mouth when I turned to face him. I was beyond pissed that I did all that work just for him to wake up two minutes later. Not even. It was like he knew exactly when to piss me off.
I wanted to chew his head off and spit it off the roof. I imagined myself pushing him off the roof and onto the concrete below.
That made me smile. Just a little.
"What're you smiling at psycho." He groans out, stretching his arms up. I don't mean to but my eyes drift to look at the tiny sliver of skin exposed between the band of his shorts and his shirt. I spot a tiny patch of hair trailing down, disappearing under his waistband.
I cough and let my eyes look at anywhere but him. What the hell Charlie.
He says, "Hey." getting my attention amidst my fluster.
