it was another morning where the gilmore group went to luke's for breakfast. the girls were walking to luke's when their mom complains about the laundry. "one of us has to do laundry tonight" their mom says. "why" rory asks. "because i haven't had any clean underwear in three days" she says.
"so right now, under your skirt, you're wearing..." cecilia asks not wanting to know the answer. "not underwear" her mom says. she makes a disgust face. "mom!" rory exclaims. "it's kinda nice, actually...breezy" she says. "our role model, ladies and gentlemen" cecilia says sarcastically. "how come y'all haven't ran out yet?" she asks. rory and cecilia look at each other. "i don't know. i guess we have more underwear than you" rory says. their mom knew it wasn't true. "that's not true. you guys have less. have you guys been doing laundry without me?" she questions them.
"no" cecilia says. "rory?" she asks knowing she would tell the truth. "okay, we did one load" she said, caving in. "and you didn't even ask if i had stuff to throw in?" their mom says in shock. "it was a big load! there wasn't any room" cecilia says defending them. "i'm crushed. i'm bleeding. get me a tourniquet. oh, no, they're dirty 'cause rory and cecilia wouldn't wash them with their stuff" their mom says sarcastically.
"i'n sorry! we'll do another load tonight" cecilia tells her mom. "never mind. i'll do my own laundry" their mom says. the twins look at each other, knowing their mom hates doing laundry. the three walk into luke's. taylor and luke are having a heated discussion about fall decor in the diner.
"every other store in town has fall decorations" taylor says to luke. this makes cecilia giggle. she knew she was in for a show. "hoorah for the mob mentality" he says to taylor. the girls sit at the counter. "we're talking a few streamers and a paper turkey. how's it gonna hurt to have a paper turkey?" taylor says. man, he really wants luke to decorate, she thought.
"no turkey, no squash, no pumpkins. nothing colored orange" luke tells taylor. "ok, you don't like orange. that's fine. autumn has many varied hues to toy with" taylor says edging on luke. "watch this" cecilia whispers to her mom and sister.
"excuse me, can we get some coffee please?" she asks and rory adds on "and a muffin" she says. "warmed?" cecilia says. "this is the autumn festival. your store is right across the street from the horn of plenty! you're right smack dab in the middle of everything. you have to decorate" taylor says.
"i don't have to do anything, but serve food" luke says. "and coffee" cecilia says in a fake stern voice. "and muffins" rory does the same voice. "taylor, i'm tired of having this conversation with you every year" luke tells taylor. "yoo-hoo" cecilia says trying to grab luke's attention.
"you have lived in stars hollow for a long time, young man. it's time you became one of us." taylor says sternly to luke. "whoo!" cecilia says trying to grab his attention again. "sorry, i guess my pods defective" luke says.
