cecilia was working at the diner after school. they were strangely busy considering it was the middle of the week. she was in the middle of putting dishes up when the door opens. she doesn't think much of it until she hears luke.
"she's not here. go away"
"what do you mean she's not here? i see her right there!"
"she's working! you see how busy we are?!"
cecilia chuckles lightly and turns to walk towards luke and her boyfriend arguing. she gets to ethan and kisses his cheek.
"hi"
"hey" he says with a smile and his eyes follow her as she walks behind the counter pouring ethan a cup of coffee. she turns to look at luke.
"five minutes?"
"four"
"no"
"young love makes me sick" he says and starts handing out food. cecilia turns and looks at her boyfriend who is smiling at her in amazement.
"woah, he didn't argue with you" he says with a light chuckle.
"there's no reason too. i always win" she says and she leans over the counter.
"anyways, what are you doing here? not that it upsets me" she says with a cheeky smile.
"well i wanted to see you and i wanted to know what you are doing friday?" he asks shyly. cecilia starts cleaning up the counter.
"weekly friday dinner. since the last one went so well" she says sarcastically.
"do you think you can get out of it? i want to have a romantic dinner for our anniversary but i have to work all weekend" he says and starts fidgeting with his fingers. this makes cecilia smile. he still gets nervous asking her out.
"i'll talk to my mom. okay?" she tells him and leans over the counter to kiss him.
"hey no pda!" she hears luke yell from across the diner
"oh really? i didn't know it was a rule. you don't have a big obnoxious sign for it like you do with the phones" cecilia yells back to him.

cecilia walks into her house after her shift at the diner, exhausted. she walks into the kitchen and sees her mom staring at a box of hamburger helper.
"no put it away" she hears rory say behind her.
"i want to cook" their mom tells them. cecilia shakes her head.
