You sat on your livingroom couch, the girls (or whatever they were) all surrounding you. You held yourself for comfort, finding it difficult to stop your anxiety from skyrocketing. Creatures that you thought were made up were actually real. Despite being told not to tell anyone, you planned on telling Tee immediately.

The only other human in the room, who's name you learned to be Jackson, patted your shoulder with a comforting smile.

"It's alright." He reassured. "I felt the same way when I found out."

"I-I....It's just...we....I never...." You struggled to form coherent words, and you eventually sighed and gave up.

"If it makes you feel any better, we won't hurt you." The vampire smiled.

"I don't even know your names." You responded shakily. "I-I feel like I don't know anything...how long have you guys been hiding?"

"Years. Hundreds of years." The mummy rolled her eyes.

You nodded. "Okay...um..."

"What, scared?" The yeti chuckled.

You shook your head no. "Of course not. I-I'm just surprised ..."

"My name's Frankie, you mentioned earlier that you didn't know our names. That's Draculaura," she pointed to every creature, naming them and what kind of monster they were.

You sat in shock. "What am I supposed to do with this information?"

"With...our names?" Cleo huffed.

"No." You deadpanned. "What am I supposed to do knowing that you guys, I don't know, exist?"

"You act like we're monsters." Clawdeen joked.

You stayed silent. They were monsters, and that was the reality of it.

"You guys have got to be joking with me." You said.

They stared at you with a type of seriousness that screamed that they were being honest. You shrunk back into the couch.

"You won't eat me, will you?" You asked with shakey laughter.

"No, they won't." Jackson mumbled.

You nodded, feeling more content knowing that they were friendly instead of murderous. The anxiety was still there, however, and you uncrossed your legs to circulate your blood.

Cleo's eyes wandered down, admiring the lacey pair of underwear you had on. From your uncrossed legs, she was able to see every inch of them. She turned her gaze away, choosing to ignore the excited twisting in her gut.

You sighed outwardly. "Maybe I should let you guys go?" You said. "It's getting late, I wouldn't want you out when it's dangerous."

"Okay, well, we'll be in contact." Jackson stood and nodded to the girls to leave.

They all did, leaving you alone in the room with a shocked expression. Monsters were real.

You stood and made your way to your room, figuring that going to sleep would help ease your anxiety. And who knew? Maybe you'd even wake up and monsters wouldn't exist?

You stripped off your dress and laid in bed, ignoring the moonlight that filtered in through your blinds. You tossed and turned, not being able to get comfortable. The information you now had bothered you. What you thought was a bedtime story turned out to be true, and you didn't know how many monsters were walking around pretending to be human.

What if Tee was a monster? What if your teacher was a monster? What if Jackson was secretly a monster? You didn't know, and that scared you more than anything.

You sighed and closed your eyes, imagining a new world with new adventures and new stories. Eventually you did fall asleep, and you slept comfortably in your bed.

Abbey, however, couldn't sleep. She was thinking too much, as she often did. But this time, they weren't bad thoughts. She was thinking about you.

How strange was it that she met someone so pretty at a party she didn't want to go to? That must've been more than a coincidence, something bigger must have been at play.

She flipped over under her blankets and rested her head against her pillow. Then, she fell asleep.

Ghoulia read her book for the hundredth time, ignoring the time and how late it was getting. Her mind hadn't moved from the paragraph she was reading. Suddenly, she found herself reading it in your voice in her head, and she shook her thoughts away as she struggled to force herself to continue reading. She gave up and sat the book down. Then, she slipped under her blankets and went to sleep.

You woke with a start, jumping up and analyzing the room for anything off before slamming your body back on the bed and going to sleep again.

A sudden message lit up your phone, and you checked it.

Tee:
You left?

You:
Yeah

Tee:
Ight. See you tmr

You
Yeah, see ya!

With that the conversation stopped. You knew she'd ask questions tomorrow, but you didn't care. You only cared about getting some rest.
