You sat on your bed by yourself for what felt like the first time in forever. You smiled warmly. You wanted to finally have a day to relax, a day to expand your mind by doing your favorite activities. You wanted to express yourself.

Looking around your room, you figured you'd do your makeup. You would do anything to keep the boredom from eating at you. As nice as it was to have free time, the boredom was often the killer of your enjoyment.

You began to apply the makeup, allowing your face to be the canvas for the swirling colors and blended hues that you strategically placed.

Your phone lit up with a message, and you turned to look at the device that had disrupted your relaxing day. Then, you grabbed it and looked at the name with a huff.

Lagoona:
•Hey! Can Abbey and I come over? We're in the area!

You thought for a second. Why would they be in the human world if they're monsters? They'd be easily identified, with their blue colored skin.

Worry carved its way into your brain. They needed a hiding place! You quickly typed a response before hitting send.

You:
•Absolutely!

Lagoona smiled at her phone and turned to Abbey, who stood impatiently while tapping her foot. Abbey's eyes widened at Lagoona's smile.

"She respond?" Abbey asked, and she crossed her arms.

"She said yes! Come on! Let's go!"

The ghouls smiled at each other before running down the street. They didn't care that it was pure daylight. They didn't care about the possibility of getting caught. They only cared about reaching you sooner.

A loud knock sounded at your door, and you put down your makeup brush before yelling out a loud "I'm coming!".

You rushed to the door, wanting them out of any human eyes that could be watching them.

They stood awkwardly outside with strange, tight smiles.

They had never really seen you outside of the group.

"Well? Come in!" You urged.

They stepped in, and you shut and locked the door quickly. "So...what're you doing outside of the monster world?"

"We were bored and curious about your world...so we just came here!" Lagoona said with a sigh. She felt out of breath after talking to you.

"You need to be careful. So many humans would like your heads as decorations." You reminded.

Their smiles turned sheepish, and Abbey held a small blush.

She mentally cursed herself. Did she stink? Did she look good? Were you watching her? She hoped you were, but at the same time, your eyes revealed every flaw she had. She would never be good enough, she thought, and she held in a huff.

Abbey looked to her outfit, trying to picture how she looked in front of you. She had never been embarrassed of herself before, but now? She couldn't imagine herself looking or doing good in front of you.

She looked up quickly, realizing she had been thinking too much. You and Lagoona were caught up in conversation anyway, and she smiled. She hadn't embarrassed herself, not yet. But she knew it was only a matter of time before she did something humiliating.

You looked to Abbey, who had obviously been stuck in her head too long. You sent her furrowed brows, but she didn't notice. Once again, she had been dragged into her thoughts. You worried for her. Was everything okay? Why was she so awkward?
