Chapter 23

              I look around to see that I'm in my room. Alyssa, Jake, Ralph, and Snake are all in here with me. Alyssa and Ralph are both standing, while Jake and Snake are sitting on Alyssa's bed. I'm sitting on my bed, the fear taking over me quickly.

                "Hello everyone." Ralph says. "Now, I know you all must be nervous about what's about to happen. For starters, I don't entirely know what you're about to be put up against. All I can tell you for help is that you need to focus your best on you and no one else. You need to forget everything around you, everything that ever happened to you, and just let everything go. Don't let your weaknesses show. Don't show fear or even that you're nervous. It will give him strength.

                "I have faith in all of you. If you all just take my advice, you can do it. You can get out of here alive. You can win, but you need to focus. You need to let go. If you can do that, I promise you that you'll be able to succeed. Now then, the battle can start any moment. This is the time where you ask me any questions that you have, or even just to say your final goodbyes."

                I look at everyone's faces in this room. I look into Jake's eyes; his eyes always had a sad or broken look to them, but at the same time he has a calming look to them. I look at Snake; his eyes are completely lifeless. Normally he looks like there's life in him, but now he looks as if it's been taken out of him. I finally look at Alyssa; she looks calm, as if she knows what's going to happen. I wish I could feel like her right now, but something just keeps on holding me back.

                "Raven," Snake says to me. "I just want you to know that no matter what happens, I love you and I'm sorry for everything that happened."

                "It's alright Snake, I forgive you. You don't need to apologize." I look at Snake to see that he notices that I didn't say 'I love you' back to him. However, he doesn't bring it back up.

                "You all have been such wonderful friends." Alyssa says to all of us. "I wish there was a way that I could thank you all, but I just hope you all can win. Thank you guys for everything. It's been really nice knowing each of you, and I'm going to miss you all so much."

                A tear slips from my face. By instinct, I get up and walk over to Alyssa. I wrap my arms around her and give her a hug.

                "Thank you Alyssa." I say to her. "If it wasn't for you, I would've been gone from here a long time ago. You're the one who saved me. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have known about anything. I wouldn't have known about what happened or what's been going on here. Thank you Alyssa."

                I give her another hug. Then, Jake and Snake join into the hug.

                "You've all been such good friends." Jake says to me. "Especially you Raven. I would've been dead a long time ago if it wasn't for you. You gave me hope and helped me hold onto something. I don't know how I'll ever be able to repay you."

                Without thinking, I press my lips onto Jake's. Then, I feel a hand on me and it pulls me away from him. I turn around to see that with tears on his face, it's Snake's.

                "How could you do this to me Raven?" He asks.

                "Snake, I'm sorry. I really am. I do love you Snake, I really do. But I guess because I've tried so hard to get to you, I never realized that I actually had feelings for Jake. Please Snake, just forgive me."
