Chapter 12

Life has been good lately. I have a boyfriend, my parents aren't ignoring me, people have stopped the rumors, and I finally am happy. The only thing that seems to be wrong is just Jake being broken hearted. Now, I am sleeping and I am in the Hospital for Souls talking to Jennifer. She called me to her office. The last time this happened was the first time I met her so I could get to know her. Now, this is on a totally different subject.

"Raven," Jennifer says to me. "You've made so much progress since you first got here that I think it's time you moved up a floor. What do you say?" I feel shock coming over me. I'm not ready to leave this floor. I'd have to leave my friends, get a new room, another roommate, and I may not ever see Alyssa again if I do.

"I don't know Jennifer," I say. "There's a lot for me to think about.

"Just take your time Raven and let me know." I snapped my fingers and appeared back in my room, Alyssa sitting on her bed, her back turned to me.

"Don't leave this floor Raven." She says in a cold voice. "Once you leave this floor, there's no more hope for you to survive."

"Survive? What are you talking about?" She turns around, her eyes dead and cold and cuts all along her arms, not to mention one on her face.

"You might want to sit down Raven." I do as she says and take a seat on my bed, both of us now facing each other. "This Hospital for Souls they call it, it's nowhere near what they say it is. They do fix your soul here, but they lie so much along the way. I saw it one day, the bottom floor. Demons were down there; those poor souls who made it through all seven levels are down there getting tortured over and over again. That little contract they had you sign, you made a deal with the Devil signing it. You didn't read it did you? No one ever does. You said you would stay here for a year which once you do you can leave, and it's also true they will help fix you, but there's so much you didn't look at. Once you're healed, they take your soul and send it to Hell so Satan can get an army strong enough to destroy mankind. They can force you to sleep, control your life which you also signed. Some things you see in your life don't even exist, just an illusion. They make your life worse at first, that way you get hooked and won't leave. You'll let them in and accept them. They bullshit you basically, they want you to want them to help you. After that they make it good so they can move you up the levels. Satan won’t take damaged souls. The only damaged ones he will take are the ones that haven't come to the Hospital for Souls and are forced to Hell. Even with those souls, he still gets power from their torture and pain. However, he wants strong ones which is why he created this place. The stronger ones give more power. Ever heard of the seven deadly sins or the seven levels of Hell? That’s why there's seven levels in this place.

“Satan is Master Jester. He's stealing your dreams because without them humans go insane. He won't ever let you see your dreams because they give him power. You can't let them move you up the floors. You need to make yourself depressed, more than ever. As long as you stay on this floor, you can live, but once you leave, there's no turning back. Don't tell anyone about this in the human world, they watch your life there. Here is the only safe place where they won't know. Don't let them take your soul and try your best to live."

It's a lot for me to take in. I sit down on my bed, shock still all over me. "Then...that's why you always have cuts. You act happy here, but in the real world you have to act as if everything is wrong.

"That's right. You should start doing it too if you want to live. Besides, you don't even know what's real or fake outside of this place. The only things that are real are the people who go to this hospital. What they do and say to you are always real. What you guys see are the same, but you guys are most likely seeing things that aren't real. I never told Snake the truth about this place, actually I've never told anyone. As long as you're with Snake, Jake will remain broken because he can't have you. As long as you're cutting, Snake will be depressed. You can keep yourself and them safe without having to tell them the truth. It can be dangerous if they know."

"So, when my year is up, I'm free of this place?"

"That is correct. For now they might be asking you if you want to move up a floor, but once you wake up cut yourself because the next night they will force you to. You need to cut yourself and keep doing that. As long as you do that, you'll be safe. They will try to make your life amazing where you won't want to do it, but do it anyways. It's the only way to survive." 

"Alright, I got it." 

"Great. If you have any more questions let me know."

"I do have just one more. How did you figure all of this out?" Alyssa went quiet for a moment, and then spoke.

"Let's just say they understood and I found them at the right time. I swore to them I would never give their name away. Now then, you need to play right for the camera. Act like you know nothing, and all you want to do is stay on this floor. Just know Raven that things will change with you now that you know the truth. This is a battle waiting to happen, and you have to do whatever you can to hold it off and get out of here." I feel scared, but relaxed at the same time. I look at Alyssa and give her a hug.

"Thank you for telling me the truth."

"You're welcome." She looked around. "I can feel you're about to wake up." She was right; I was starting to drift away. However, before I did she had some final advice to give. "Remember, you may lose your soul in this Hospital for Souls."

When I wake up, I instantly run into my bathroom. I grab my razor, roll up my sleeve, and slice my wrist. Quickly, blood begins to drip out of it. I must admit that I missed the feeling of the razor in my skin, and the feeling is amazing. However, Alyssa's words are still in my head.

You may lose your soul in this Hospital for Souls.

Holy shit! Plot twist! This concludes part 1 of the story, but don't worry I have more coming soon! I'll be putting part 2 on this story (so please dont archive it). Alright, for those who maybe just read and don't vote or comment, and even those who do, out of all the chapters in this story WHAT IS GOING THROUGH YOUR MIND RIGHT NOW!? I must know my patients! I want to see what I have done! PLEASE let me know how you feel on this story now and how you feel about the truth that I am now telling you! I REALLY want to know! Like out of all the times I've asked for my patients to vote/comment this time I NEED to know! 

Alright, I just want you all to know that yes I have part two chapters already made (not done writing this story but I got some chapters made) but I have drivers Ed for the next 2 weeks, so updates won't be as frequent as I usually make them. I will update as fast as possible, but if I don't I'm sorry especially cus of how I'm leaving my patients at a major part in the story!
