Aniya.

(Later that day.)

We all sat in the living room playing Charades. I still managed to enjoy my time, no matter who was around. Luckily, I barely seen Chase all day.

He suddenly walked up taking a seat next to me on the couch. "Are you avoiding me?"

I looked at him shaking my head. "No." I couldn't help but notice how close he was to me. His breath giving away that he's been drinking.

"We can't be friends anymore?" He moved closer to me like I couldn't hear him. His lips were dangerously close to mine as he stared down at them.

"We are friends Chase." I smiled licking my lips making sure they weren't dry. His eyes were trained on them so I wanted to double check .

"Friends." He bite his bottom lip laughing. He than leaned back, creating a little space between us. "How'd I get back here?"

"Aniya's turn." Briana called out from the center of the living room, holding a piece of paper with my name on it.

I gave Chase one last smile, before getting up to take my turn.

We played a couple more rounds really getting into the game.
Everyone had a smile on their face as we laughed at each other's goofiness.

The whole time I felt Chase's eyes trained on me.

"Did we decide on where we're eating?" Briana shouted from her room.

"I think the buffet." I yelled back.

"Is everyone almost ready to go?" She asked.

A couple people needed a few more minutes.
Including me.

Chase laughed on the bed as he watched me run around the room.
"My lash glue?" I turned to him. "Have you seen it?"

He stood up walking into the bathroom. He came out holding my black tube of lash glue.

"Thank you." I walked up to him, grabbing it.
Ten minutes later, my lashes were glued on and I was good to go.

"Ready." I told Chase as I walked out the bathroom.

"Okay." He chuckled standing up to grab his wallet and keys.

We met everyone downstairs, we all dressed pretty formal for the most part.
"Are we good to go?" Timothy counted everyone confirming his own question.

As we made our way to the cars, Chase grabbed a hold of my hand. I looked up at him confused but instantly smiled when I was met with his pearly white teeth. I melted at the sight, forgetting my confusion.

He opened the car door for me stepping aside.
"Thank you." I slide in.

He walked in front of the car, hoping in the drivers seat as I buckled my seatbelt.

"Ready?" He started the car.

"Yup. Let's go." I smiled at him.

••••••••••••

The car ride there was a comfort silence. We didn't feel the need to share words, just appreciated the silence.
At least on my end it was appreciated.

We pulled in front of the buffet. Picking a parking spot and getting out.
"I'm starving." I held my stomach as Chase met me on my side.

He took a hold of my hand, smiling down at me. "Let's eat."

We walked in, instantly being greeted by the host. She was a sweet young women, who held a bright smile on her face.

The group soon met us inside. "Table for seven." Briana requested.

The woman collected seven packaged utensils. "Follow me." She said leading us to a big table. We took our seats as she explained the specials.

We all thanked her before she walked off, leaving us to grab a plate from the stacks, piling them up with food.

I took my seat, being one of the first ones done. Everyone eventually got there plate filled taking there seat.

"To senior year." Ryan held up his glass of soda. "One hell of a year." He smiled taking a sip of his drink.

We all cheered, taking a sip of our own drinks. We dug in, talking amongst each other.

"How's your food?" Chase pointed to my plate. He sat right next to me, Briana on my other end and Camille on his.

I gave him a small smile. "It's really good, yours?"

"Good." He smiled.
I could tell he was looking to keep up the conversation.
"We deserve it." He joked. "All that homework we've been assigned." He filled his fork with food taking another bite.

"We definitely deserve it." I laughed taking a bite from my plate.

Camille spoke up, smiling to everyone at the table. "I think we should vote Chase Top Senior." My eyes snapped to her hand as it rested on Chase's arm.

"Please don't do that." Chase lifted her hand off of him before looking back at me.

She sighed placing her hands in her lap, embarrassed. "Why not? You work the hardest out of all seniors."

"Stop trying to get people to vote for me. They can vote for whoever they want." Chase stared at her before looking down at his food and taking a bite.

"Well.." Camille rolled her eyes. "Vote me for best smile and most popular."

"Camille, We'll vote for who we want." Ryan rolled his eyes sighing.

"Right." Briana giggled, we all were annoyed by her at this point.

We finished our meals, topping it off with dessert. Chase paid for my meal, refusing to let me pay for it myself.

We said our goodbyes to everyone, planning to meet back up at the cabin. "Thank you for paying." I said as Chase and I walked to his car hand in hand.

"You're welcome." He opened the door for me. "I had a lot of fun with you."

I couldn't contain my smile. "I had fun too."

He brushed his lips on my cheek placing a gentle kiss there. My cheeks began to heat up, no way I was blushing right now.

My feelings for Chase still apparent. My mind told me no but my heart wants him. There will always be a connection here with him.

"I love you Aniya." His eyes poured into mine.

I quickly looked down taking a deep breath. When I look back up I'm met with his green eyes, God I loved him. "I love you too."

He brought his lips down to mine, making the butterflies in my stomach jump for joy. I kissed him back, not being able to stop myself. I missed his soft lips.

We pulled away from each other, our breathing trying to catch up to us. We both seemed to crave each other's affection.

••••••••••

We got back to the cabin, walking into the living room. Everyone looked exhausted as they were all stretched out laying down.

Chase and I joined the group, sitting on the couch. I looked up just in time to see Camille give us a nasty look. She quickly changed her face to a sweet smile when she realized I was looking at her.

I smiled back before stuffing my face into Chases neck. I moved my whole body closer to his, snuggling into him.

I could tell from his movement that he was taking back by my sudden affection but instantly relaxed into me. We laid on the couch snuggled up, watching a movie that was playing.
