It was closing time for the restaurant when Jason was able to come to Jenny's. He didn't want to make her wait for so long, but everything had to be put in place, the people trained and put in their places, so he didn't even realize that the day has passed by. Marc had already assured him that everything was in order. Jenny had already accommodated the woman in one of the apartments above the restaurant, without giving her anything to suspect. So, the only urgent thing that she could talk about was an information she gathered. Already? She was good, no joke!

He went in and straight to his table, at the back of the restaurant, where he could see everything, all the way to the kitchen. It wasn't long before Jenny appeared at his table, angry and looking for a quarrel with him.

"I've sent you that message 6 hours ago. You could have at least replied and tell me you don't feel like hearing what I have to say."

"Sorry! There were important things to put in place. Not that I'm obligated to report to you, but it also involves your safety." That closed Jenny's mouth. "Now calm down and tell me what this is all about."

Jenny sighed, concluding that there was no point in creating unnecessary discussions with Jason. Anyway, at least he didn't go down without explaining himself first. "Did you know that Diana's boss should also arrive tomorrow?"

"Who is this boss and what does he has to do with all of it?"

"I don't know! Diana didn't give me too many details. She didn't even mention her name, but she asked if she would come and stay here with her. I told her we were going to talk after she gets rested. She hasn't come down yet but it should happen any minute now. That's if she doesn't sleep until tomorrow morning, at how tired she was when I picked her up from the airport..."

"We would stretch the rope with Smith if I'll take another one of his men. This time he was smart and kept quiet, but next time we might get another reaction from him. So, the answer is no. See what else you can get out of it and we'll talk later. Now tell me what impression this wonderful manager made on you. You know how to analyze people very well and I trust your judgment."

"First of all, she is not so stiff as you might think. She seems a humble and sensible person. And second, I don't think she knows anything about what's going on here. Not once did she give me the impression that she was hiding something. Although she is an intelligent and mature woman, sometimes she looks very childish and she is not afraid to show it. It reminds me a little bit of the old Jason."

Jason stared at her. "Be careful! First impression can be misleading. She can be a talented actress. Besides, she may not know anything now," he said, emphasizing the word now. "But once informed, she can make the games for Smith. People generally tend to join a plan if it benefits them."

"It's very possible. But she doesn't look like a petty person, eager to devise plans behind someone's back. If she knew anything or knew she was going to be informed, once she got here, she wouldn't have had the authentic reactions I saw on her. Marc can confirm some of them for you."

"Yes. He's already done it. And I'm telling you, the same thing I told him: don't let your guard down. I'm not asking you to come up with a big conspiracy plan now. Just be yourself, but be careful."

Suddenly, Jason sensed a strong cherry blossom smell coming from the kitchen. He was attracted to it but restrained his instinct to go and look for it. When Diana appeared at the kitchen's double doors, all his muscles tense up and he had to grab the wooden edge of the table tightly to stop himself from getting up and going to her. He narrowed his eyes and his gaze remained on her.

Seeing his reaction, Jenny turned to see what's that all about. She immediately guessed the reason for Jason's reaction. She got up from the table very slowly and went to meet Diana at the bar. She knew Jason would be listening to what they were saying, so she didn't worry about him.
