Thank you for taking interest in my story!

This is my, very in depth, take on a Stardew Valley fanfiction. This is a Sebastian x Female Reader story, with very brief Shane x Reader moments. If you love Sebby and Sad Chicken Man as much as I do, then this story is for you.

I want to take a few minutes of your time to review a few things with you before we proceed.

First and foremost, this is a very detailed, lengthy story. Reader does not even meet Sebastian until Chapter Nine. Please bear with me, as a lot of other pertinent information to the story takes place between Chapters One-Eight! It will be worth it! I have spent many hours pouring my heart and soul into the fine details surrounding multiple storylines - this story does not focus only on the budding romance between the new farmer and the town emo. Rather, I like to think that it is more realistic, in that Reader builds multiple friendships in her new town. We will spend a fair amount of time with each person. This story will not contain any immediate smut, but due to the nature of other recurring themes within this story, I would advise that this is only read by Mature Audiences. Cursing is uncensored, and a few heavy topics are some of the main focal points of this story. Trigger warnings are listed below.

Secondly, I want to mention that I have taken some small creative liberties throughout this story. I am very happy with the direction this story went due to these small additions and alterations, and I hope you are too.

I want to clarify an idea that I've implemented in this story as well, as it may be a little confusing when you come across it in the story. Canonically speaking, in Stardew Valley, Female Farmers have contact with their fathers, and Male Farmers have contact with their mothers. Fathers send 500g in the mail occasionally, whereas Mothers will send cookies. I did not like the idea of pinning you with a specifically gendered parent in this story. I am not close with my own father, and I just couldn't bring myself to write a story where I had to pretend that I was. It felt icky, and I am sure that many of you can relate. However, I know that many people do not have good relationships with their mothers, either. So I wanted you to be able to pick which parent you have a closer relationship with. I signified this by saying (+Parent). In this story, your parents are divorced, and you have a negative relationship with your other parent, which will be signified by (-Parent). Your (+Parent) has remarried, and their new spouse is referenced as Step-(Parent). Reader's parents are mentioned very briefly in the beginning of the story. Similar to the game, they do not have a huge role in the book.

Here is a quick reference guide to my acronyms that I used throughout this story, that you may fill in with your own details. These may be specific to you, or your own custom character.

(+Parent) - Mom/Dad that you have a positive relationship with

(-Parent) - Mom/Dad that you have a negative relationship with

Step-(Parent) - Step-Mom/Step-Dad, married to (+Parent)

(Farm Name) - Your Farm's Name (if that one weren't obvious 😉)

I would also like to include a list of possible trigger warnings. Each chapter containing potentially triggering content will have a separate warning at the beginning, underneath the chapter title.
