"you haven't told me what you want for christmas yet, nari," you say as you look at your younger sister.
she's ten, making her thirteen years younger than you are. you've asked her multiple times what she wants for christmas, but she keeps refusing to tell you.
for an unknown reason you still don't know. does she not want presents or something?
"it's a secret!"
"how can i get you something when it's a secret?" you ask her with a frown. "do you not want presents this year?"
"oh, i want presents! it's just... not a thing you can buy, per se."
you frown. "then what is it that you want? do you want someone? because no, we can not buy you a person."
she sighs, jumping up and down a little out of annoyance. "y/n, can you just leave it? it won't happen if you keep bugging me about it! it will happen if i keep it as a secret. just wait, it should happen today."
you frown and roll your eyes. whatever. if she's not going to tell you what she wants, she won't get a present. it's as simple as that.
you suddenly hear her squeal. "there they are! my christmas present!"
you're about to reply when nari runs towards a crowd. you widen your eyes, "nari!"
you quickly run after her, holding onto your scarf as you make your way through the crowd.
oh, your mother would kill you if something happened to nari.
you look around, trying to find your sister, but she's nowhere. you frown, feeling the panic through your whole body.
"nari? nari! where are you?"
you turn around multiple times, seeing many faces look at you, but there's no nari. she's nowhere to be seen, only older people that are hurriedly walking to the stores to get presents last minute (just like you were doing with nari).
you feel panic take over your whole body. "holy fuck, i lost her."
your hands are shaking as you grab your phone. you look at the messages, but there is none from her.
wouldn't nari ask for someone's phone to text you? she doesn't have a phone yet since your parents wanted to wait. her birthday is in may, so when she turns eleven, she might get her own phone.
