Book 1: The Alpha Who Saved Me

Chapter 19: There's always hope.

Currently it has taken hours of preparation for today. And when the Luna ceremony finally commence. It went off without a hitch.
I don't think I really ever dreamed of the day that I would become someone's forever. See most of the girls dream of white dresses and picket fences. But my reality change that one sad day. My dreams came crashing down the moment I heard my dad moan his last breath. Walking down the simple white aisle runner covered in flower petals. And looking at him, as the man I never knew was the man of my dreams. Kai is standing in front of an elder at the alter. Dressed in a light gray suit with a single eagle feather braided into the back of his hair. I knew for the first time in a long time, the moon goddess has shown favor on me. I walked to him and held his hand as Kai and I vowed to be each others forever. I had once dreamed during happier times of a soulmate. My parents had a love that I never understood until I met Kai. Now telling him before the pack and everyone else who was listening. That I have vowed to be his wife, his soulmate, his equal, and not only the mother to his pups but the mother to this pack. Truly meaning this was for the rest of my life. My sister took my flowers and kissed my cheek. Right before I turned around and pricked my palms. Kai pricked him palms and we intertwined hands as we kissed.
A blood pack sealed with a kiss. I can feel the whispers of our ancestors as our blood did an exchange. Only thing left for us to do now was mate.
Of course that will happen later but to say that I was nervous would be an understatement. Of course every little girl has had that talk with her mom. But Kai has been my first real kiss and now he will be my first everything. After the first time I went in heat. I'm pretty sure he's been ready. But he has been a gentleman. Of course not only does he live by tradition because he's an alpha. But he was raised to be a southern gentleman. And he oozes southern charm. I could not have imagined a better ceremony.
But the eerie feeling was still there. You know the feeling. That sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach. The one that's more like angry bees instead of butterflies. It's a good thing the warriors were able to work in shifts so they could be a part of the celebration. The celebration will last through the night. And at dawn the pack will praise dance and do a pack run with all the able pack members. At that time an elders, injured or youth who haven't shifted yet. All go to the panic room.
Yes we now have a panic room to help save lives. After my kidnapping Kai won't take another chance even though we are strongest pack in Eastern United States.
Tonight right before Kai and I went up to the Alpha suite. I spoke to Mama Pen about Gem. Who has not been seen since the night before the Luna ceremony. To ease my mind, Kai will be checking cameras tomorrow to see if she crossed the border. Another precaution we took. To anyone else the cameras may look like bird houses, or even salt licks throughout the woods. However... all 300 acres of the territory have a sensor that when triggered. Starts uploading video footage to a camera feed.
And all 4 high ranking wolves have full access to them. Only thing that takes a camera offline is for it to be destroyed.
A small perk I learned, to being stationed in South Carolina and working with the military. But that's another story for another day. Just know our panic room, weapons and cameras are all military grade.
Deep in though I. I didn't realize til now that we are in front of our bedroom door. It's like I am in a dream as I enter the room with Kai. My body is floating. But my heart is beating a 100 times a minute. Can he tell? Are my sweating palms giving me away? I giggle because I'm nervous. Hey Kai I'm just gonna go change out of this dress and freshen up a little bit.
Yeah that's a good idea. We have about five hours before we run with the pack. Take a shower do whatever you need to. Before I can turn and walk away it was me and to embrace kisses me softly. You know we don't have to do this right now if you're not ready?
I sigh and look up at him. I know just give me a few minutes.
I answer the bathroom staring in the mirror I barely recognize myself from all the make up and the curls ever done up. taking off my dress turn on the shower I just wanna watch the girls out of my hair and then make up off my face change into a nice comfy T-shirt and shorts and possibly give myself over to this man. I step in to the shower washing my hair I don't hear Kai come in and get in dressed and step into the shower with me. He pulls me into an embrace and I didn't know I needed at that moment. Our scents mingle and we relaxing to each other. He takes over washing my back and the rest of my body and I turn around and wash him as we enjoy the silence of just being together. Turning off the shower Kai steps out and grabs towels. Wrapping it around the both of us he kisses my forehead.
It's been a long day Leigh. I raise up on to my tip toes and lips his lips. I know I said against his mouth. And just like that the sparks began to fly.
