Broken Pieces

05. It come to this.

Lian's body finally collapsed. His workload, stress level and sleep depriviation has led him to lay in a hospital ward.

Lian was taking a walk inside his office with stack of files in his hand, carefully reading when Foei witness his boss suddenly fell to the floor. He panicked and call an ambulance at once, left the office in a mess.

Within half an hour, Lian was brought into a room by a team of doctor and nurses, followed by the panicked Foei. He wait outside the room when the doctor carefully examined his Boss.

The doctor was still inside when Foei noticed his boss's parents figure rushing to his side.

"Foei, where is Lian?" Asked Lian's mom. Foei could see she was on the verge of crying. Soon, Lian's father helds his wife in his arms, trying to assure her that their son would be okay. Foei's eyes met Lian's father's eyes before the later nods.

The corridor was dead silent, with only a little sobs comes from Lian's mom. However a sound of door being opened breaking the silence. Followed with a figure coming out of Lian's room. Lian's parents and Foei rushed to the doctor's side.

"How is it, doc? Is my son okay? What happened to him?" It was Lian's mom asking. The doctor smiles at the woman, trying to ease her worry.

"He just exhausted himself and need a proper rest. He should be okay after a several days in hospital. Dont worry." He said. He assured both that nothing is going to happen to their son as long as he rest well before leaving.

As the doctor left, the three went into Lian's room. When his parent's saw their son laying there, their body that was so tensed started to loosen up a bit.

Foei let Lian's parents went to his side, while he watched them on the side.

Everything went well with Kon Diao and  Yi's relationship these days after they opens up to each other. And Diao could feel Yi's sincerity and love albeit his fierce outer appearance. He really wanted to pat his own back for all those years being stubborn. Because its all paid off.

He still live in Yi's house but not alone anymore. Yi will always be there every night, unlike in the past. He would send him off to his campus before going to work, send him few messages throughout the day which makes his day much better.

However something really bothers him.  He was helpless about his friend, Kuea.  He have to admit that Kuea is even more stubborn than he was back then.

They met everyday, eat lunch together every few days. But everytime Diao want to talk about Lian, Kuea would butt in and say something to change the subject. He was worried. Their problem has been dragged on for too long.

He just wants the best for his bestfriend, however he didnt want to confront him.
If he do, he afraid their friendship would be on stake, which is the worse.

Today he have spoke with Kuea through phone call. Kuea asked him if he could accompany him to Gemini. Its been a while since the last time he performed there. And Kuea kind of miss the stage. Of course, Diao easily agreed to Kuea's request.

He was already waiting in front of Kuea's faculty building  when his phone rang.

He saw the caller's name, its Hia Yi. Diao happily answered the call and before long, Yi's voice greeted his ear.

"Kon Diao, are you home yet?" Yi said. Diao unconsciously shook his head a bit.

"Not yet, Hia. I'm going to go somewhere with Kuea." Diao answered.

"Kuea? Are you with Kuea now? If you are, tell him Lian is in the hospital now." Yi said. There's pause in between Yi's voice before he continued.

"Hia will go to see him later tonight. So Hia will be coming home a bit late na."
