Seven years later

Changbin

I woke up to an empty bed as I heard some noises coming from the house.
Where are they?
I stood up, putting on my slippers and a robe before I stepped out the bedroom.
As I walked down the noises became louder and I smiled as I recognized familiar voices.

"When daddy wakes up we'll see if he's down to do that." My husband spoke as I arrived to the kitchen.
I stood in the doorframe and watched my family standing at the counter probably making breakfast.
"Down to do what princess?" I spoke up smiling at the tiny human standing between Hyunjin and Felix.

She imidiatly turned around and let out a small squeak.
"Daddy!" She removed herself from the stove and ran up to me as fast as she could with her small legs.
"There comes the favorite dad." Felix chuckled as my daughter jumped up into my arms.

"Good morning daddy" she mumbled as she snuggled up into my neck.
"Good morning Ena. What's for breakfast?" I chuckled as I melted at her cuteness.
I walked over to both of my husbands my daughter still in my arms.
I gave both of them a small peck before I looked at the stove.

"Blueberry pancakes! Dada said you'd love them." Ena spoke up.
I looked at Felix frowning.
"Hmm making things that I like I see. What's the occasion?" I chuckled.
Felix looked guilty.
"Ena wanted to take a trip to the beach today..."

I looked back at my daughter poking her cheeks.
"And you want me to get out your inflatable unicorn am I right?"
I chuckled. I clearly remembered the struggle I had two weeks ago as I tried to pump air into her favorite water toy. It took me two whole hours...

"Come on I'll help you love" Hyunjin chuckled as he strocked my back.
I smiled back at him while putting my kid on the counter.
"Okay I'll do it for you. But first you have to do something for school and when you're done me and papa will get all your toys. How does it sound?"
She looked up at me with exitment in her eyes "Thank you daddy!"

Sometimes I wondered if it was wired for others to see such a family.
Did they think we were not capable of raising a child? Did they think my daughter needed a mother?
As we were a little younger I had worried about what others thought too. But it was mostly our relationship only.

But now we had a child to take care of. Someone who doesn't know anything of the world and I had never imagined beeing at this point of my life.
I left my parents behind never getting back to them since the day I moved in with Felix.
I had started my music carrier Felix brother helping me with every step. We became best friends and there was not a day of my youth wasted with the drama of my parents anymore.
Instead I produced 170 songs since then.
It's all I ever wanted.

Until two years earlier from now.
Hyunjin had decided to propose to me and Felix and we got married one month after that.
One year later we decided to adopt Ena.
Our angel.
The ending chapter of your relationship.

"Can I try again. It's not that easy to learn..." Ena mumbled as she looked down on her homework.
Felix was standing on her side patting her small head to calm her down.
"Yes love. I understand, it's not always easy." He talked softly melting my heart as well.
My inner child would've loved him. If he would have him I wouldn't be growing up this miserable fighting with mental health issues to this day...

"What are you learning Ena?" I asked as I sat next to them.
Felix looked up at me biting on his lips as if he wanted to keep something a secret from me.
I frowned as I looked down on the paper infront of my daughter.

A B C D...

"Honey you don't have to help..." Felix mumbled. But surprisingly I was okay. I was at ease even.
I was happy that Ena could learn in this atmosphere. She was allowed to succeed but also fail at the same time. Mistakes were good in her growing prosses and that was what made me feel peacefull as I looked down on the letters.

"Oh come on Ena the alphabet is something you shouldn't be afraid of. I just know you're powerfull enough to handle this. Don't be upset okay?" I talked her out of her doubts.
She looked up at me with glossy eyes as if she was about to cry but then a small smile apeard on her face.
"Okay daddy. I can do it right?"

I stroked her hair and pecked her forehead "Of course. You can do anything."
As I looked up to Felix, he was smiling at me brightly. His freckles on display beautifully as always.
He looked proud and I couldn't tell if it was for Ena or for me but I smiled back at him too mouthing a little "I love you" as Ena was looking down on her paper again.

Later on as our daughter finally finished the homework we packed some food and Enas toys before we walked out to walk to the beach.
It was a very hot day so Hyunjin made sure to cream everyone with an unholy amount of sunscreen.
Ena and Felix were wearing hats and were walking infront of me and Hyunjin.

"Why do we always have to carry everything?" Hyunjin whined next to me his hands packed with bags.
I chuckled at him shrugging my shoulders.
"Because those are princesses. And as you know royalty do not get their hands dirty." I said.

"Exactly." Felix and Ena said almost at the same time. We couldn't help but laugh at them. Such cuties.

"So you're saying I'm not your princess?" Hyunjin asked smirking as we calmed down.
I musterd him from the side.
"No. You're a different kind if princess tho..."
He frowned and came closer.
"What kind?" He asked curious and I chuckled at him squinting.
"The kind that gets her treatment at night." I whispered and left a flustered Hyunjin behind.

We finally arrived at the beach and our daughter imidatly ran towards the water leaving us behind.
We found a pretty spot and sat down as we watched Ena playing with the waves.

And then I realised it doesn't need a mother involved to be considered good parenting. It doesn't even need strict rules or everyday lessons to raise a child.
It just needs love. A lot of love and care and even more comfort.
That's what I needed and that's what I was giving and receiving now.

I put my arms around my husbands waists and kissed both their cheeks softly.
Then we just watched out daughter grow infront of us...

And that was the ending of the alphabet.
The letter Z that was never followed up with any other letter.
It was just like our story.
Never followed up with any drama again.
Just pure happiness afterwards.
