The baby is crying hard in the cradle. The man looks at him again. A tear forms in the corner of his eyes. He turns away.

Jungkook looks outside of his dorm windows. It’s final year of his College but the nightmares never seem leave him. In the past few years, Jungkook has changed a lot. Not only his mind but also his entire appearance has gone through a transformation.

After Lena died, Jungkook knew that nobody in his life has left to protect him. So he did what he has to. “Run”—was the last word his mom said and that’s exactly what he did. He left the town and admitted in his dream college where nobody knew him. At this point, he has got a decent idea of his curse—yes, he believes in his curse now. And why wouldn’t he be? Everyone he ever loves has gone just before his eyes and who didn’t just simply hate him for his existence. He himself has started to hate his existence. That day of the accident, many people were severely injured and hospitalised, but it was only Lena who died on the spot, as if the entire accident had only one purpose.

The town folks were mad that day. And mad means MAD. They were about to tear him up when professor Johnnson came in between. Jungkook doesn’t remember much as he was too traumatized and shocked, but he had heard later on of how professor Johnnson had convinced the mad crowd to have pity to child who lost his mother moment’s ago. It wasn’t easy to drag the half unconscious boy out of the mob, but he managed it. The next day the town council demands the boy to leave forever, never to return and Jungkook did. The professor helped him financially to get in the college, but the money became no longer an issue as he got the scholarship. Jungkook also managed to return the money by doing some part-time works. The professor had refused at first but Jungkook didn’t want to feel like being owned.

Now, Jungkook knows not to show his weaker side. Since its only the people he loves, he started to push everyone away. Before if it was the people who kept their distances from him, now it’s Jungkook who keeps distance from them. If it was others who bullied him, were mean to him before; now it’s Jungkook himself instead. He worked out regularly to make him look stronger. He did several piercings in his ears, right eyebrow and lower lip, tattooed his entire right arm to pursue a bad boy image. Now, he wears only black clothes and silver chains, pursuing a punk look to look mean. He also started to learn boxing and even won the college boxing championship last year. To other students, he is a mysterious figure they fear and yet can’t help but admire.

Jungkook looks back to the letter he is holding, it’s from professor Johnnson. He is coming to the city and wants to catch up. Johnson is the only person Jungkook keeps in touch with but only through letters. Now, after almost three years, he gets a chance to meet.

Jungkook closes his eyes. Everyone he loves……

-------------------------------------------------------------

I apologise for this gloomy chapter.

For Jungkook, his mother was his entire world, his entire reason to survive and smile.

Will Jungkook's fear led him towards a sad and depressive life? Or will he find a reason to live and smile again?
