"Find me near, find me far, find me nowhere in your arms..."
~°~•~°~•~°~•Snape held his bloody sword tightly as he paced in front of the lake. "Sharon, I suggest you bring me the crown of the traitor! Father is displeased enough knowing that Seraphina has returned already! It's only a matter of time before she finds it... Ransack the place if you must! If she finds it before tomorrow's ceremony the other kingdoms will suspect what truly happened to the Barletta Kingdom!" It was Snape's voice, I was certain of it but his words didn't make any sense.
"Yes your highness, I understand but Papandreou has already moved the crown! I've searched everywhere for it but I've no clue where it lies now... Please I've done everything you've asked of me! Don't hurt my dearest Eras!" Eras? Mistress Eras??? Wait, is that Sharon's daughter??? The one who disappeared??? I knew Sharon wasn't his actual mother but she raised him like her own...
Snape chuckled as he put the sword under the elders chin. "You lost your daughter the moment you sold her to the king... She's just as weak as you are! Do you know what happened to her when she was forced to become a mistress? Father told me... Everyday he would plant his seed and even broke her bones when she refused him... The nobles rejected her because she was born a commoner..." Sharon cried out as Snape cut her jaw.
"Even after the doctors confirmed her pregnancy father still used her as he saw fit... Though he did the same to Maria she was still different... She was allowed to be free as long as she promised to wear the crown... My mother never got that chance... Once a commoner always a commoner... Despite that, my mother never complained. All she wanted was for me to be healthy..." He sounded sad as he spoke.
"I have to become more than her... More than you... But now I'm going to lose everything because of the missing crown!" Snape swung at a nearby tree, leaving a large scar across it. "Amandius has insisted on having the queen's crown... Of course it would be the crowned Princess of Amphitrite considering how they love to show off their jewels..."
"I don't understand... Why won't the king make another crown...?" That's a good question... What has made that woman want that crown?
"It's one of a kind... It's specially made from one of the rarest gemstones found in Theron... Golden diamonds!" Why is this kingdom obsessed with golden things? The castle has gold on it along with the castle walls. I wouldn't be surprised if they drink golden water!
"Why would it be out here then? Shouldn't it be guarded in the castle?" My legs became numb as I slowly moved to get comfortable. As my knee pressed against a stick I could feel it crack but it wasn't enough to draw attention. Looking back I decided that it would be best to leave while I can.
Slowly I began to retreat until I heard Snape. "Maria gave it to Seraphina as her last gift... If Seraphina is found with this crown she will become queen regardless of her status in society. That's why it really must be found..." I could tell this conversation was ending silently I slipped away towards Shade who was laid down out of sight.
I quickly looked around before climbing on as he trotted back onto the path before dashing off. If Sharon really did go through my home then papa must have know something would happen. I need to find Caspian... This is far bigger than I could've imagined...
The gray clouds had almost disappeared as Shade flew like the wind down the path towards the outskirts. Not many dare to run a shop this far away from the castle. A tavern, small inn, and a stable sit out here due to the dangers. My skin crawled as we left the forest behind. Being out in the open is an odd feeling when it's just open plains for as far as the eyes can see.
