"Denial and God's Will"
~°~•~°~•~°~•"If you know my mother then you must know who my father is... I believe that my mother is trying to help me restore Theron to how it should be and right the wrongs. To do that I need to know this connection between me and this crown.", I hadn't noticed Erron until I looked back at Caspian who pulled the small crown out. Caspian handed me the crown before stepping back beside Erron. "I believe that it may be curs-"
"You and this crown aren't cursed."
For a moment I was stunned. "But... When I was in the castle-"
"You experienced those events because of all the negative energy around you. I can see how pure you are and right now this crown is feeding off your energy. To defeat the darkness you must be the beacon of light. Connect with the crown and surround it in peaceful thoughts. Greed cannot affect those who hold generosity in their hearts. Just as wrath cannot survive the virtue of meekness. Though some would disagree on who holds that power...", her tone was very dismissive of my concerns.
Caspian cleared his throat at that. "Saintess Gabriella, I believe Seraphina understands what you are saying. There is a very good reason as to why she believes that there is a curse on something or someone.", Caspian spoke calmly and politely while also trying to reason with her.
"If you're suggesting something unnatural is occurring then I will not hear anymore of it!", her voice echoed.
"But the people in high society are being possed by shadows!!!", anger rang out in my voice as I squeezed the crown. I know that yelling at her wouldn't help either of us but she refused to listen. "Quincy, my real father, and Snape, my half brother, torture me and act irrationally! They killed my papa in front of me because they wanted to! They want me dead because I pose an unknown threat to them! I was meant to be executed during the spring festival but I managed to escape... Before I did the people in high society did something very strange... They suddenly crowded me with greedy eyes... It wasn't natural or human like... It felt dark and menacing like the cold things but worse...", my voice shook. "You cannot tell me that something isn't wrong! You're a Saintess for God's sake! You possess a power to help me so why are you acting as if there is no danger!?"
"Seraphina, calm down...", Caspian pulled me against him but I wasn't done talking yet.
"No! I want her to answer me. She claims to have God's strength but has anyone seen her use it?", I knew something wasn't right. I stared her down but she still stayed silent. "Why can't you answer me?"
"...I don't answer to peasants like you." My eyes widened at that as a numb feeling hit my heart. The crown slipped out of my grasp as I stared at her. "I've already said what I needed to. If you wish to speak more nonsense then an exorcism will be needed.", she turned away from us with a cold look on her face. "Don't come back here with anymore nonsense, Seraphina. I would hate to banish you from entering the church..."
I felt an unreasonable amount of anger at that. Before I could say anything Caspian spoke up. "Is that a threat?" Chills ran down my back at his tone. It wasn't cold or angry. It was heavy and dark like a blade ready to strike. "Need I remind you that threatening royalty is punishable by death? Actually I'd like to make something very clear... Any questions that Seraphina asks will be answered and if you or your father have any complaints then come to me. Seraphina will also be exempt from any punishments regarding this church." That made Saintess Gabriella turn around.
"You can't do that! I'm the only Saintess in this kingdom and father will have you dethroned! You don't have any control over this kingdom! God and his loyal servants do!"
"So God told you to let an entire kingdom be destroyed by demons? Did God tell you how many people have died already? Woman, children, and the elderly are more than likely dying as we speak and yet God is tell you to not save them?", Caspian let go of me and slowly walked towards her. "Isn't God supposed to be merciful towards those who cannot protect themselves? You are his servant and yet you refused to help end the devils grip on Theron.", drawing his sword I watched in shock as he placed the blade against her neck. "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't send you to God right now?"
