Chapter 21

"A servant and questions, who knows what?"

I woke to the sound of my stomach growling furiously. Glancing around I noticed the bed was empty. As I tried to sit up, pain pulsed through my lower body. My legs felt stiff and yet they throbbed as if they held their own heartbeat. The door was closed unlike before and yet the smell of food spilled into the room. A knock at the door startled me until a young woman with a large tray entered.

"Good mornin, m'lady. King Caspian has requested that you be fed in bed." She approached calmly and sat the large tray on my exposed thighs. To be fair I didn't think to cover myself at all once I realized she was a woman. Caspian would probably-

A door close to a large window opened and revealed a shirtless Caspian with wet hair and a few papers in his hand. He glanced up for a moment before looking back down at the papers. I blinked a few times and waited for him to pay attention. After a few moments his head snapped in my direction as the papers fell to the floor. "SERAPHINA!!! How many times must I tell you to keep yourself covered!!!", he strided over to me and quickly wrapped the blanket around me before dismissing the woman. Water droplets dripped down his face as his eyes burned into mine.

"I could understand the time before but now I think you're being a bit too much. That was a woman not a man...", rolling my eyes I looked at the food before me. Everything smelled delicious but I had no clue what some of it was. Luckily I knew what eggs, cheese, and bread looked like. A large jar with purple lumpy stuff sat next to the bread. There seemed to be two kinds of meat; one long and thin while the other was long and thick. "Come eat with me.", I removed the blanket and motioned for him to come closer.

"I'd rather eat you...", Caspian gave me a lustful look. "But I must improve your health first considering you haven't eaten anything since Countess Sicada fed you. A physician will come soon to see how unwell you are. Until then I want you to eat everything and then rest for a while.", while Caspian spoke he leaned in close and kissed my cheek. "I'll be in my office doing some work. You may join me if you feel up to it. My housekeeper should be bringing some clothes for you as well."

"Ok... If it's alright with you I'd rather go train for a while so I can build up some strength." Sitting wasn't something I could do for a large amount of time. Caspian looked me over for a moment before tapping the tray. Hesitantly he said, "Once you've eaten at least 3 meals today I will allow you to train with Erron tomorrow morning..."

I nodded but immediately did a double take. "Wait, I'm meant to eat 3 of these?!", looking at the tray I tried to imagine what else I would have to eat. Instead of saying anything else Caspian stood up and went over to a beautiful wardrobe that sat near the window and pulled out a loose button up shirt. Looking at him from this angle I could see how his lean muscle flexed with each movement as water dripped from his hair. My stomach felt tingly as naughty thoughts filled my head.

"Seraphina...", I glanced up at him with innocent eyes. Shaking his head, Caspian picked up his papers and walked into his study.

Letting out a long sigh I looked down at the food. My stomach growled at me ferociously as I picked up a slice of bread. It was warm and soft just like papa made it... A knife with no blade rested near the jar. I managed to smear small bits of the odd jam onto the bread but most of it landed on the tray and my legs. The purple jam stuff tasted like grapes to my surprise. Quickly I finished the bread and grape jam along with the mess.

My legs felt very sticky along with my hands and face. As I took in a deep breath my stomach didn't feel full yet. I devoured the rest of my meal and yet my stomach still growls for more. A pitcher of water sat near the bed along with a glass. I poured myself two glasses of water and drank it hastily. Finally my stomach felt full and stopped growling.
