After a long flight, finally Beam, Thype and their grandparents arrived at Bangkok International Airport at exactly 10 in the morning. Their driver was already waiting for them at the exit.
Beam ran to his driver and hugged him. "Phi Den, i missed you" he said
The older driver smiles widely at Beam. "I miss you too young master." He said and ruffled Beams hair. Afterwards, Phi Den waid to the older Baramee and Thype and they drove immediately to the hospital.
When they arrived at the hospital, Beam immediately ran to the ICU wherein his father stayed, he saw his mother and Thea at the corregidor near the door.
"Mae.." shouted Beam running to his mother with tears in his eyes. His mother saw him, she stood and hugged her younger son.
"My baby, finally you went home." She said while hugging Beam.
"Yes Mae, I'm home now and promise I will never leave you again. I am sorry Mae, I wasn't here for you when this happened to Por. I am sorry." Said Beam crying
"Sshh…it's ok baby, me and Por will understand, It's not your fault, it is an accident and now that you are here for sure your father will recover soon,.hmmm." she said in a calm and smooth tone. And Beam just nods in understanding.
"Can I see him Mae?" He asked
"Yes baby, wait here I will call the doctor." After a few minutes Beam enters the room, with complete protective gear to prevent virus or germs from entering, his heart aches when he hears every beeping sound of the machine inside the room. He sat near his fathers bed and held his hands.
"Por I am hear nah….your baby is here, I am sorry Por I live far away from all of you, but I promise that I will never leave again.. so please wake up nah…i miss you Por, i really really miss u." He said and was still crying. "Please wake up nah Por, Beamie is sad and worried, I want to feel your hug Por, I missed you so much" he continued and then suddenly his finger flinched and Beam was shocked by the sudden movement of his father.
"Oh my Por you flinched, wait nah Por I will call Mae" he said and immediately ran to the door.
"Mae, Phi father moved, he flinched his fingers" he said happily.
"Really?'' his mom said and immediately called the doctor.
They patiently wait outside looking through the mirror while the doctor checks his fathers condition. After a few minutes the doctor came out.
"Good news Mrs. Baramee, your husband regained his consciousness, his vitals were ok, we can transfer him to a regular room if his condition continues to this day."
Thype hugged Beam and Thea while their mom thanked the doctor in tears.
They patiently waited for the doctor's advice, and their grandparents were sent home to rest. Thea asked Beam to go too but he refused, "I want to be here Phi when Pho wakes up" he said. When the night comes their father regains his consciousness, they are all happy in tears to hear the news.
Beam's mother hugged him. "Thank you baby for coming home, maybe your Pho just waits for you to come home. Don't leave us nah.." she said and Beam just nodded and hugged his mother.
After a long day, their father was transferred to a regular room but still in close monitoring. He was under sedation to sleep some more until tomorrow. Beam and his mom agreed to stay in the hospital while Thype and Thea went home.
Due to exhaustion, Beam fell asleep minutes after he finished his dinner. His mother lies him down on a bed next to his father. She softly caresses his son's cheeks and stares at him lovingly. "I love you my son, I will never ever let anyone hurt you again that will cause you to live far away from us." She said and kissed his forehead and tucked him under the duvet and sat beside her husband's bed. She held his husband's hand and kissed. "Love, Beam is home now, he is here with us now, you will see him tomorrow so please get well nah..he misses you so much." She said and eventually fell asleep also.
The next day at around 6 in the morning. Beam's mother was awakened when she felt that someone caressed her head, she slowly opened her eyes and the sight she's seeing right now is her husband's weak but joyful smile. Her eyes widened in disbelief and she became fully awake when she heard her husband speak. "Good morning my love". He said. Bern, cried in an instant and held her husband's hands.
"Go…good morning too my love". She said in tears and got up to hug her husband. Beam heard his mother whimper and he instantly get up from the bed when he saw his mother hugging his father.
"Por..you're awake". He also cried and joined his mother by hugging his father.
"Beam son, call up the doctor quickly". Instructed his mother after she regained herself from crying.
"Ok Mae". Said Beam and ran to the door to call for a doctor. Few minutes later he came back with three doctors and 2 nurses behind him and immediately checked his father.
After the checkup the doctor congratulated Bern by saying that her husband is stable now.
"He is okay now Mrs. Baramee, you don't have to worry, he will just stay here for an additional one week to regain some of his strength but all in all he is good." The doctor explained.
"Thank you doctor". Said Bern while hugging Beam while she held Ben's left hand.
"You're welcome Mrs.Baramee, we are glad that we were able to save Mr. Baramee's life, Dr. Kongtanim will be in charge to monitor him for one week. I will call him and he will be here as soon as possible". He said and excused himself.
Beam hugged his father and cried in his embrace. "I am so happy that you're okay now Phor, I'm so sorry that I was not here when all this happened. Promise that I will be at your side from now on. I will never leave all of you again." He cried hard and his father stroked his back slowly.
"Stop crying nah, this is not your fault my baby, see, your Phor is okay now strong as a bull." Ben said to Beam while smiling. " We were so happy that you're here now, thank you my baby for coming home again to us." He continues.
Beam and Ben are in that position when Thype and Thea arrive crying. The door burst open wide, behind them are their grandparents.
"Phor.." the both said in unison and approached the bed of their father. Beam gave way to his siblings and grandparents, he stood up beside his mom.
The two cried so hard like Beam does. "Thank God you're okay now, we were so happy when Mae called us." Said Thype
"I am so afraid of Phor when you don't wake up, I thought…I thought…" Thea unable to finish what she wanted to say because of too much crying.
"Sshhh..stop crying my babies, your Phor is okay now nothing to worry anymore." He said while hugging them. And they stayed at that position and Beam and Bern joined them.
"Oho…guys I can't breathe." Joke Ben and the four realized that they squiz Ben on the bed and they all laughed.
"Mae, Pa." I am glad that you are here." Said Ben and hugged his parents.
After a while, Ben's stomach grumbles. And they all heard it. "Oopss..guys, i guess i am already hungry." He said
"O yeah before we forgot, i brought food for us." Grandma said and they prepared the table and Beam happily fed his father.
They were laughing and bickering while eating when Phana came together with Kit. They were panting as if they ran from a marathon.
