Lunch came, all the engineering students settled themselves in the dining hall and made a line to get their food. Forths group came first in the hall to assist all the students, when Forth saw the medical team he immediately focused his eyes on a particular individual, Beam.
Since the line is long they decided to find a vacant table to sit first while waiting, they all settled in when Sharp approached Beam and sat beside him uninvited. “Hi Beam.” He said, Beam just nodded and smiled at him. Sharp keeps on talking to the group even though he feels that he is not welcome, he casually stares at Beam and makes an act of touching Beam's hands and shoulder. Phana saw that Beam felt uncomfortable beside Sharp, before he even made a move, there was a hand that grabbed Beam's right arm and guided him to stand and follow him, it’s Forth.
Sharp clenched his jaw while watching Forth dragged Beam away from him. If looks can kill, probably Forth is dead right now on how sharp he stares at him. Beams' friends show a smirk on their faces while watching the scene.
“Those two are getting better now.” - Kit
“Yup, it seems that in no time they will announce to us their relationship.” - Phana said grinning
“Oh my god, I am so excited.” - New said, giggling.
Upon hearing those comments, Sharp glares at them and stands, stomping his feet away from the table and the three burst into laughter.
When Forth dragged Beam, he couldn't do anything but to follow. All eyes are on them, but no one has the courage to gossip. They silently watched the drama.
When Lam saw the two, they immediately gave space for Beam. Forth made him sit on the table together with his friends.
“Stay here, I'll get your food.”- Forth, and he leaves Beam with his friends.
Beam wai at the group, he knows Friends Forth by their names but don’t have the chance to talk to them except Lam.
“Don’t worry Beam, we don’t bite.” Said Park jokingly that gain a smack on his head from Lam, his boyfriend.
“Stop it, jerk. When Forth hears you, you're dead.” Said Lam glaring at Park and Beam just timidly smiled at them.
“Sorry Ai Beam, he’s just joking.” - Lam
“It’s ok.” - said Beam smiling.
“What’s the deal between you two, now?” Asked Lam with a teasing smile at Beam.
“wh..what do you mean?” Ask Beam shyly.
“Do you already forgive him?” -Lam
“I…i don’t know.” said Beam and vow his head
Lam sensed the awkward reaction of Beam, “Oh, I am sorry. Sorry for being nosy.” he said apologetically.
“It’s ok, you don’t have to apologize.” He said and smiled at Lam.
Soon enough Forth came with a two serving of food and a bottle of water. After he places the food on the table he sits beside Beam and glances at his friends. “You can also get your food. The line is shorter now.” and his friends stand up in line to have their dood.
“Ok let's eat.” Forth said and opened the bottle of water for Beam.
“Fourth, you don’t have to do this. I can manage.” -Beam
“But i want to do this, I want to take good care of you know. Please let me, Beam.” Said Forth pleadingly. Beam can see the sincerity in Forth’s eyes and he just nods. He peels the shrimp for Beam, he knows that it is Beam’s favorite and Beam takes Forths plate to take all the veggies and transfer some of his meat on to it. Because he also knew that Forth didn’t eat much of the vegetables. His friends carefully watched them, and a grin appeared on their faces.
“They look good together.” -Said Max
“They are perfect for each other.” - Said Tul
“Hope they will continue acting like this.” -Said Park
“Sure they will, this time.” -Said Lam, and they also dig into their food with a smile on their faces.
And from afar, there are pairs of eyes that emit fire looking at them. If looks could kill, Forth should be dead by now.
Lunchtime is over and Forth brings Beam back to his friends. “See tonight, Beam.” He said because they will be very busy the entire afternoon preparing for their event. The medical team also. But before Forth leaves he asks to talk to Phana in private.
“Ai Pha, I know that we are not on good terms since that day happened between me and Beam, but I want you and your friends to allow me to be part of Beam's life again.” He said to Phana.
“It’s not up to us Forth, Beam is the one who will decide.”- Phana
“I know, but still I want to ask for permission. I promise that I will never hurt him, ever again.”
Phana nods, he can see the sincerity in Forth. “Ok Forth, there’s no problem. We just want Beam to be happy and we all know that you are one of the reasons for his happiness. So there is no place for us to block that happiness.” Said Phana sincerely too. “And when you hurt him again, there are 3 pairs of hands that will punch you in the face.” Said Phana playfully punched his palm. And the two laugh at their silliness.
“And Ai Pha can I ask you a favor?”- Forth
“What is it?”- Phana
“Can you please look after Beam, please let Sharp go around him. I don’t trust him.”-Forth
“Don’t worry buddy, we also don’t trust him.” - Phana
“Ok thank you.” -Forth
“Ok let’s go, for sure they will nag at me telling me I laze around.” And they walked back to their respective group.
“Where have you been, Ai Pha?” -asked Kit
Before he could talk, he dragged Kit and New at the corner to tell them what he and Forth talked about and they all agreed to keep an eye on Sharp. Not because they granted Forths request, but really for Beam's safety.
During the preparation of their tent and equipment, Sharp has no chance to approach Beam because he is guarded by his crazy friends and he observes that. Before they start their program at 5pm and they get back to their room because they still have one hour to rest and prepare themselves.
When they all settled in their room, Beam put his arm in his chest and faced his friend. “Now tell me, what’s going on earlier at the tent?” He asked and his friends glanced at each other feigning innocence.
“What do you mean?” Ask New back, acting as if he doesn’t know what Beam is talking about.
“Oh, come on. Don’t play innocent.” Said Beam tapping also his right foot on the tiled floor. “You're going to tell me, or I will leave this room and sleep somewhere else,” he threatened. And the three just keep glancing at each other.
“Ok.” Said Beam and gestured to get his belongings.
“Oi.” His three friends say in unison. New and Kit hold his bag while Phana stands in the door.
“Phana, tell him nah.” -New
Kit and New make Beam sit in the bed and the three sit on the floor facing Beam. “Ok talk.” Said Beam.
And Phana narrates what he and Forth talked about earlier this afternoon. Beam blushed on what he heard from his friends and also felt afraid on the Sharp part.
“So Beam, as much as possible don’t go anywhere without us knowing where you will go nah.” Said Kit
“Because for sure if something happens to you, Forth will break loose.” - Phana and Beam just nodded and thanked his friends for their love and concern towards him. And for Forth, he felt butterflies in his stomach and he kept on blushing on the thought that Forth really protected him.
