Maddi's POV
I woke up with my head in Axel's lap. "Good Morning!" He exclaimed. "Wow you sure are a morning person." I laughed. "C'mon, let's go make breakfast. I'll teach you how to make pancakes!" I jumped on his back and he gave me a piggyback ride down the stairs.
I looked at the clock and then remembered. "Uh, Axel?" I asked. "I need to be at practice in an hour." "Practice for what? Picking a better boyfriend?" I smacked him on the arm. "No. For cheer dummy." "Well then we have to make pancakes fast! We raced each other to see who could make the best pancakes in the least amount of time. He won. "Mmm..." The sound escaped my lips when I bit into his pancake. He had added blueberries (my favorite fruit) to the mix and that added the perfect amount of sour and sweet to the pancakes.
After we cleaned up our plates, I explained to Axel that I didn't have any practice clothes. "So we have to go back to your house?" He questioned and then sighed. "I'm going to beat up this Brian dude." He gave me one of his Nirvana shirts to slip over my sports bra and I kept on the running shorts from yesterday. As we pulled out of the driveway, he took my hand.
Kendal's POV
This was a disaster. Brian was a lying, cheating, no-good boyfriend. The only reason I did what I did was because he was going to tell Rick to break up with me; but that happened anyways. Brian had come into my room early one morning when Maddi was at the gym.
"Hey babe." He slurred. I could tell he was drunk. "Get away from me!" I yelled. He was clinging on to me and not letting go. His teeth were barred and he looked like some kind of crazy animal. "Brian, stop. You will regret this." I pulled away and started running but he quickly advanced on me. "I need you to do a little favor for me or else I will tell your sweet boyfriend Rick to break up with you."
He smirked and I could smell the alcohol on his breath. I couldn't let that happen. He grabbed my hand and pulled me up the staircase. Rick was still in bed and Maddi was at the gym. I heard the front door open and assumed that was Maddi coming home, but for some reason, it didn't stop me from what I was doing. He pulled me on top of him and started pulling off my clothes. I whimpered and closed my eyes, hoping this was just a dream.
His bedroom door opened and I heard Maddi's voice ring out. Oh crap. Then, her footsteps grew closer to the bed and the covers were withdrawn from my naked body. She let out a shriek and ran off. Then I saw my beloved Rick's jaw drop to the ground. He had caught me cheating.
I pulled out of Brian and threw on a bathrobe. "It's not what it looks like!" I yelled to Maddi. But she closed the door and I could see her running down the driveway. I collapsed onto the ground and started bawling.
First, I was basically raped and then I lost my boyfriend. But more importantly, my best friend. I made it down to my bedroom and locked the door, just in time to dissolve into hysterics. My best friend hated me now and I wasn't going to see her until practice tomorrow, she probably wasn't going to let me near her.
Maddi's POV
"Okay we have to be really quick and quiet." I whispered to Axel. He was parked down the street and we were creeping into the basement from the back of the house. We silently passed the pool and made our way to the door. I opened it a crack just in time to see Kendal run into my arms. "I'm so sorry Maddi. Please let me explain." She cried. "Get off of me you filthy slut." I retorted.
I was flaming with anger and I couldn't help calling my ex-bestfriend names. "He raped me." Her voice cracked. "I'm just here to get practice clothes and some other items. I will be staying at a friend's house for a while." I wasn't going to buy her lies and give her pity. I walked over to my side of the room and opened a drawer. There, I grabbed a couple pairs of Pros and my Smoed practice uni. I also threw a couple cute outfits into my bag. I muttered a small "Bye." to her and closed back the door.
Then my whole world crumbled in front of me. I started uncontrollably shaking and I got incredibly dizzy. "AXEL!" I squealed. I felt his warm arms wrap around me but I kept crying and shaking. Finally after what seemed like forever, I started to calm down.
I could feel Axel stroking my hair and whispering calming things to me. My breathing was shaky and I felt like passing out, but I could see again and while I was still crying, it was a considerably less amount. He enveloped me in a tight hug and carried me back into the house. Kendal helped me into my bed and told Axel, "I think she just had a severe panic attack."
They called Eddie and said I needed to go to the ER so I wouldn't be making it to practice today. I always hit my stunts as center flyer so I wasn't worried. Axel climbed into bed with me and started rubbing my back. Then everything went black.
