Maddi's POV
That night, I could hardly sleep. Just thinking about having to quit Smoed made me extremely upset. I had been talking about being on Smoed since I started cheer when I was 4. My mom knew this was my dream and she was taking it away. I tossed and turned the whole night. But when it became morning I had a brilliant idea. My parents got a divorce back when I was little and my dad had only seen Tori a couple times over the past 11 years. Yeah, my dad paid for child support and we visited him on Christmas, but it was his turn to be a parent and be there for his children. I called my dad and explained the situation to him. He understood and completely supported me. He was going to fly back to my mom and Tori to help out!!! This was probably the happiest I've ever been. I told Kendal the good news when she got up that morning. We decided to have a "game night" and the boys surprisingly joined us! Risk got pretty intense especially when Kendal won. Rick and Brian were not exactly keen on the fact that they got beat by a girl. After Risk, we played Monopoly. That was the longest game ever. Three hours into it, we gave up and went to cook dinner. We made chicken Alfredo and DIDN'T burn it! My phone buzzed and I realized it was an incoming call from Mom. I answered it and she told me that my dad offered to take care of Tori instead of making me quit Smoed. Well thanks for the info mom but I was the one with that idea. She went on to tell me that she was on a flight in to Cali to visit me and Kendal. Apparently, Mrs. Conahann had come along too. Technically I wasn't supposed to have boys in the house so as soon as we hung up, I explained everything to Kendal and Rick. Brian was taking a shower. I slowly looked around the house and saw that it was completely trashed. For the next 2 hours, everyone was cleaning everything. I had to vacuum the whole house... including stairs and hardwood floors. Kendal cleaned the pool and decks and the boys packed up and dusted. Finally, we were done cleaning. My phone rang again with my mom's ringtone. I answered it and then heard a knock at the door. "Hey sweetie! Our flight was early and we are waiting at your front door!" "Okay. I am cleaning my room and Kendal is taking a shower." I lied. "Go ahead and unload the car. I will be there to help in a bit. I don't want you guys to come into a messy house!" Somehow, she bought the lie. I snuck Rick out the back door with his luggage, and Brian followed him. I made Kendal get in the shower so we wouldn't get busted. I helped my mom and Kendal's mom unpack. Phew! We were safe! After Kendal finished her shower, we all had a talk about how long we would be in Cali. It was pretty boring so I'm not gonna tell you everything. The moms each got their own rooms and Kendal and I went outside to tumble and call the boys to see where they were. They were staying at a hotel not far from the Corsello house. I told them that our parents would be gone in two days so they could come back soon. I felt half guilty for lying and half proud of myself and Kendal for pulling it off. Oh well. I brushed away the guilt and decided to hit the hay. We had another Smoed practice tomorrow and I don't function well without sleep. I tried to stop thinking about betraying my mom's trust by having boys in the house but it's not like we did anything bad! My mind gave up on trying to find a solution and I drifted into a deep sleep; excitedly awaiting tomorrow's practice.
