Chapter 8:
Kendal's POV
"Maddi get UP!" I groaned as I tried to wake her up for the 100th time. I finally gave up and started getting ready. We were having a girls day today! I put on a pretty sundress and some sandals. Then I grabbed a bowl of cereal and went back downstairs to do my hair and makeup. I straightened it and did a crown braid. Then I did a light smokey eye with peach lips. I looked pretty decent today. Maddi got up and started getting ready so I made her breakfast. She walked upstairs in her favorite white shorts and an army green long sleeve tshirt. She paired it with white high top converse. Her hair was wavy and she had similar makeup. She took huge bites of my famous pancakes and we were on our way. We parked the car and ran into the mall. "Omg Kendal look at this bathing suit!" Maddi grinned. She was holding a blue Triangl top with the matching bottoms. I made her try it on. Those suits were the best quality. She decided to not purchase it because even though it looked nice, it was super expensive. We went by a smoothie store and got some strawberry smoothies. They were amazing. I walked by a nail place and Maddi made a face at me. I winked at her and walked into the salon. She followed behind me and our shopping day was turned into a spa day. We got our toes done Smoed yellow with crowns on the toes. Then for our nails, we got acrylic French tips. After our nails and toes dried, we continues shopping. We walked into Sephora and got some lipstick for cheer. We were super tired from the night before and then getting up early. Tomorrow was our first practice.

Maddi's POV
I got up and showered because as soon as I got home yesterday, I crashed. When I got out, I put on my Smoed sports bra and black nike pros with a neon yellow band. I slipped on my Nfinites and grabbed a Clif bar with some coffee. Nice breakfast right? Soon after I got into the car with my breakfast and water bottles, Kendal came in and we drove to practice. We arrived at cheer and glided through the doors proudly carrying our Smoed Nfinity backpacks. We started stretching a set for the first stunt. Double up, left heel stretch, tick tock to right, scale, pull to needle, double down. Smoed was hard but it was definitely my passion. After 5 sets of bear crawls and lots of running, our 3 hour practice was over. I was too tired to drive so Kendal helped me out and we went home. My phone rang with my mom's special ringtone.

-Hey sweetie! I was calling to tell you that I miss you and will be flying to California in two weeks to visit you. I also have some bad news. When I come to see you, I will be taking you home. Tori (my sister) broke her collarbone and is going to need lots of attention.
~No mom. I have a competition soon. This is my dream team. There is no way I'm coming home. I'm sorry. Bye.
I hung up my phone and threw it into the backseat. "What the heck Maddi? What is going on?" Kendal asked worried. I informed her about having to go home and quitting Cali. My phone rang again and I just ignored it. Then Kendal's text signal went off. It was from my mom. I read it aloud. "You don't have to permanently quit Smoed. Just for a couple months so you can watch Tori. I'm sorry this is happening. I love you and I will see you in two weeks." I couldn't believe this was happening. I finally got my dream life and it all got taken away. I hardly even ate my favorite dinner. I would find out a way to stay on Smoed. This wasn't going to be easy but I could do it.
