25th, September
It was not cheap.
Addie forgot how much Rand it was, but it was a bit over 4,000 euros for 3 tickets.
"Cheap airlines dot com, then?" Jeff suggested, glancing at Addie as if asking her permission.
Addie concidered this. It would be at least 25 percent cheaper, and Ned could pickpocket a little. "Fine. Just make sure you don't get a full plane." She conceded.
Jeff smiled. No screams mack him smile.
They walked through a park, talking about random stuff like gaming (that was Ned) while Addie warned Ned about the bad quaility planes at a cheap airlines dot com, while Jeff laughed.
"How much money do we even have?" Ned enquired.
"Hmm, I don't know how much Rand, about. . . 1,500 euros?"
Ned raised his eyebrow. "That's not bad," he added.
Then he snapped his fingers. Addie jumped. Jeff laughed. "Umm, well," Ned said, a bit awkwardly, "I thought we could borrow some money from my parents." He suggested.
"Great idea! If their willing to, we could avoid cheap airlines dot com." Jeff said the last part while looking at Addie.
Addie grinned, "You're parents are life savers, literally." Addie thanked Ned.
"We can go now. My house is just a short walk away from here." Ned said.
————
Addie didn't hear much after that, but Jeff told Ned something and they looked at each other and started randomly laughing. Addie shrugged. This happened way too often.
"Forward?" Addie asked mindlessly when they had reached a branch in the pathway and they were still laughing. None of them stopped laughing. "Guys? Do we need to go forward?" Addie said impatiently. Again, nothing. Just laughing. She was so annoyed, she just walked forward and left them alone.
Something caught Addie's eyes. European cash. A giant wad of green paper notes. Addie had an urge pick it up, they needed it for the flights, but Addie knew who ever's money it was, it was hard-earned. Stealing it was just wrong. She didn't pick it up.
All of a sudden, the craziest thing happened. The money started levitating. Towards Addie. Addie's eyes started glowing dark green.
"Addie?" Jeff called when they had caught up to her. Yay, Addie thought, they've stopped laughing. But Addie didn't say anything. She felt like something was controlling her. She was lifeless, frozen.
The stack of notes floated into Addie's pocket."Oh my god! She's attracting money! This is so cool-" Ned exclaimed.
"Not cool, Ned, not cool." Jeff broke in, staring at the wad of cash.
Addie panted, right when the money was safely in her pocket. She coughed, not being controlled anymore, and pulled out the money. It wasn't stuck, she expected that it would be. She yanked the money away, and it didn't levitate back, she expected it to come back.
Jeff calmed her down. "Did you see? The money was floating! "Addie panicked.
"Yes, yes, I know. "Jeff comforted.
They walk towards Ned's House, while Addie panted and panicked. When they reached, Ned's step-mother gave Addie some lemonade and biscuits to calm down while Addie rested in their hammock.
————
When Addie woke up, she felt something in her pocket. She didn't think too much of it, so she let it be and went back to sleep.
A few moments later, she woke up and completely. She stood up and went inside Ned's house. Jeff and Ned were sitting at the dining table, having another one of their laughing hours. But when they saw Addie, they stopped laughing and turned serious again.
"Addie are you feeling better?" Jeff checked.
Addie nodded. "A little bit," she said.
"Uh," Ned started. "What's in your pocket?"
Addie almost forgot that there was something there. Now, she slowly put her hand in her pocket, and brought out a wad of cash. The was of cash.
"Oh my God!" She screamed. She threw it away again, but she knew it would come back in a couple of minutes. Jeff comforted her, while Ned examined the money.
"How does it keep on coming back again?" he murmured to himself.
Ned's step-mother had come to see what all the screaming was about, so she suggested, "I could lock it," they all nodded.
