the ticking clocks of time
the grandfather
to the phone screen
are leaving us
and we are going with themto exist outside of time, yet to still be in space is incomprehensible
as is existing outside of space, yet still in time
and so it leads me to wonder
is there another dimension that we exist withinthe chord that never left since the moment we arrived
it tethers us to our bodies
but where else might it lead
if we were to throw it farther
and farther
beyond the observable universe
beyond all possibility
what is to exist
outside of the knownas time is running out
the expanse is getting larger
maybe we can follow it
if there were a way
if there were timeas we go
our life seems to not have even existed in the grand scheme
it was too minuscule
to be memorable
like a single neutrino
in a great nebula
so insignificantand yet i still wonder
if our love
would outlive all else
it is more than physical
it is unfathomable
but it is us
and i wonder
if us may exist
far longer than the universe will
maybe we will beat it to its expansion
and we may be born again
as something far greater
so great
that the clocks of time
will cease their ticking
and smile upon our hearts
forever entwined
until the rebirth
of nothingness.
