Alaska

I killed three wolves just to get to Aspen's lifeless form on the ground. I see red everywhere with Aspen in my arms, her blood smears on my upper arm from the side of her head. My dad and brother scowled at me in unison, but I don't care as I change my way to get her the medical help she needs.

"Come on, come on." I seethe, ignoring the terrible impacts that show on my skin as I look down at her pale face. I won't let her have the same fate that my mom had, I feel the whirls of emotions keeping me down; from worry to anger to self-blame. I can't believe that she would do something like that.

She broke the first rule in werewolves royals pact: when a human joins, there is no off-limits to those who are around the human meaning that they could have ripped her body off.

The sinking feeling in my heart senses how dangerous reality is. I caught her on time this time, but what about the other times?

She doesn't listen to us. Castle interrupts.

We need to make her listen. I say internally as I reach the hospital.

The nurses rush out with the stroller when I yell for help, guilt punches my stomach, making me feel helpless as I watch them stroll her away from me. She's still a human, she can't fend herself from those human-eating wolves, the gentle wind passes by me as I mind link the alliances to attack them back the way they did.

We have succesfully killed about five wolves in total from the Desels, but we are going to have to surprise them back when they are restless right now. The only good time for an attack is the instant rebuttal one where we just retaliate after an immediate battle.

Aspen is going to be fine, a wolf just hit her head, I made sure to check her pulse before carrying her, and her family will be around her anyway. I gaze a little bit more at the hospital entrance before tumbling into the woods and shift to Castle, who storms off to the direction I mind linked the alliances for.

My senses heighten when I find my brother and dad ahead of me, I nod to Alvera as her pack joins her and she nods back, a meaningful gleam in her eyes. We are long-term friends, our fathers met each other ever since we were young.

I'm going to let them pay for what they have done to Aspen. I promise Castle as we growl, the others imitate when we run into the Desels that's full of Canis Rufus.

After jumping off a few mountains with everyone behind with my dad on my left side and Allen on my right, we push ourselves more until we find the tree with their sign glinting for us to pave through. Rage bursts into my veins as I force my hinder legs to run more, as I had expected earlier, they are resting between the bushes and the solid gray rocks.

It's an easy win for us. Castle states and I agree with him as he surprises the wolf behind the tree by taking him from the back, ripping his head off of its body.

The others get alarmed and set for another attack, but my eyes is on William, the Alpha that kicks off one of the companion wolves. I howl for Alvera to kill the Alpha that's hiding behind his army, my bloodshot eyes targets him as we avoid other wolves that trifles with us, Alvera bashes another creature with her leg as we attack the unarmed Alpha, our victory is cut short when I feel an arrow pierce through my leg and Castle groans loudly in pain but Alvera doesn't stop as she bites into his neck, sidetracking him before she ties her legs around his tail and flips him over.

My vision gets blurry when Castle whimpers and I shift back, the malevolent pain cutting through my body as I cried soundlessly with my eyes closed, hugging my burning body.

"Get him out of here." All I can hear is Alvera's shout, the sounds of others are bare whispers.

I sense myself getting carried and I immediately notice my dad's strong grip as they get me out of the territory. I try to breathe but I end up writhing in agony. I can feel the cut stinging and my body is taking forever to heal.

Little moments flashes in my mind of Aspen, the girl I crush on every day, her holding my hand promising that we will be okay to her smile, it makes me feel a bit better as I stay strong for her. The last thing I want is to leave her, questions about her health springs up on me as I think about how she's doing right now.

But I don't get to think long because my leg cracks and I scream in pain as sweat slides down my biceps. They lay me down on a single bed, the pack doctor comes in as he inspects the damages.

"Calm down, this will hurt a little." The minute he warns me and puts a hand on my leg and the other around the arrow, blood bursts out as I moan even more at the unimaginable tremors.

"Silver arrow." Alvera's eyes turn fearful at the sharp arrow that the doctor holds with protective gloves on and a poker face.

"Yes, indeed." He puts it closely to his eyes and I get mentally drained as I close my eyes again.

"He'll have to rest, I'm going to put the antibiotic cream on the wound and bandage it until it heals up at dawn." The doctor explains to the others, their sounds far away as I feel my body shutting off.

With Aspen in my brain as I exhale for the last time and dive deep into darkness.
