Shay groaned as she started to wake up, pushing herself up and feeling confused when her hands came into contact with something that wasn't her bed. She frowned and looked up as the thing she push on swore at her. Shay quickly realised she had fallen asleep on Eddie and got up, feeling a bit embarrassed. She had fallen asleep on him many times but after the almost kiss last night it felt different.

"You pushed on my bladder, you dick!" Eddie groaned as he got up and rushed to the toilet. Shay chuckled along with Steve and Robin who had woken up before them and were coming into the room with four mugs of coffee.

"You feeling okay, Shay?" Robin asked quietly as she handed her a mug and sat down right beside her. Steve sat down on her other side and gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder.

"Yeah, I think so. I'm just confused! Something happened at the grocery store too but I'll tell you about it at work later." She whispered, just loud enough for both of them to hear as Eddie came jogging down the stairs.

"Hope you didn't have nightmares last night, Harrington!" He chuckled as he took a mug of coffee. "You were holding onto poor Robin for dear life!"

"Get fucked, Munson!" Steve scoffed, making sure the other man had put his coffee mug down before pushing him off the sofa. He laughed as his friend hit the floor with a thud and glared at him. "Come on, Rob. Lets leave this loser with Shay! See you at work."

Robin said her goodbyes to her friends and followed Steve out of the door, leaving the two alone for the first time since they had almost kissed the night before. Shay quickly gathered the coffee mugs and hastily made her way to the kitchen. She needed time alone to think but it was only 10am and she didn't want to just kick Eddie out yet.

"Are you okay, Shay?" Eddies voice made her jump and she nearly dropped a mug. She hastily put them in the sink and turned to see her best friend leaning in the doorway.

"Er, yeah. Why wouldn't I be?"

"Is it about what happened last night?" He asked, pushing away from the door frame and making his way over to her.

"I don't know what you're talking about, Munson." Shay said, turning her head back to the sink, turning the hot water on so she could wash them up.

Shay stifled a gasp as Eddie placed his hand on her bare shoulder, sending a tingly feeling through her body. "Shay, I'm sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable. I don't know what came over me. Can we just forget about it and go back to normal?

"Yeah, of course. No worries!" She replied, surprised at how easily she could hide the hurt in her voice. This just confirmed that he didn't feel the same way she did.

"Cool. You want a lift to work later? You start at 1, right?"

"Thanks but I'm going to have to pass. I was planning to go out and do a bit of photography before my shift." Shay said, finishing washing up the mugs and drying her hands. She watched as Eddie fiddled with the rings on his fingers, trying not to imagine them wrapping around her neck but failing.

"Oh, okay. I'll head out then. Catch you later?" Eddie said, sounding slightly disappointed.

She felt a pang of guilt but ignored it. "We can hang out again after my shift? I finish at 10."

The guilt quickly went away as her best friends face lit up. "Sounds good! I have band practice tonight so I'll just come pick you up. See you later, Shay!"

Eddie gave her a quick hug before grabbing his stuff from the livingroom and racing out the door to his van. As soon as he had driven off Shay let out a massive sigh that she had been holding in and flopped down onto the sofa. She felt bad about lying to him but she needed time alone with her thoughts.
