Darkness fell over the small town of Hawkins as the clock struck 4pm and the gang had barely moved from the sofas. After they had eaten the chinese they then proceeded to go through almost all the snacks in the house, leaving them with just a few bags of chips and a small bag of skittles.
"I'm going to go to the store. We need more snacks!" Steve announced, slapping his hands on his knees and getting up. Lydia made an exaggerated whimpering noise to let Steve know her lap was now cold. He smirked as she pouted. "Wanna come with me, Lyd?"
"Only if you buy me ice cream!" She replied, getting up from her comfy spot, leaving Robin with the couch to herself.
"But aren't you, like, lactose intolerant?" Shay asked, smirking at her friend.
Lydia returned the smirk quickly. "Very! That's not a problem is it, Stevie?"
Steves eyes widenened a little bit as it sunk in what that meant. When he was with Nancy she had never once farted in front of him. She had never even burped in front of him which had suggested she hadn't felt comfortable enough around him. Where as Lydia wasn't afraid to be herself in front of him. Lydia was the total opposite of Nancy and he loved it. "Why would it be?"
Lydia paused for a moment before giving him a satisfied look. "Come on then, Steve. Let's get snacks!"
"If you're going to fuck in the car make it quick. We need snacks!" Eddie called after them as they went into the hallway to grab their shoes and a coat. They both turned to stick their middle fingers up at Eddie, earning a cackle from the long haired man.
"Bite me, Munson!" Steve shot back, already knowing what his friend was going to reply with.
"You know I will! Don't tempt!" Eddie shouted back, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively. Shay rolled her eyes and pushed him off of the sofa, making everyone laugh as he fell to the floor with a loud thud.
Steve was used to Eddie playfully flirting but there was no doubt in his mind that Eddie was also a little bit serious about it. Not that Steve minded.
The pair hastily left the house and Steve opened the car door for Lydia, making sure she got in okay. Once she was strapped in he got in the drivers side and they headed to the grocery store. Lydia was still a little bit high so instead of grabbing a small cart she chose a big one, laughing at Steves shocked face.
"We only need snacks, Lyd!"
"Are you serious? We're all going to be high as balls for the rest of the weekend and one small trip won't be enough!" Lydia shot back as she headed straight for the chip aisle. She turned her head slightly to see Steve heading for a different aisle. She guessed he would come meet her.
As she was browsing the chip and dip selection she felt a gaze on her. She slowly turned and came face to face with none other than Chrissy, who had a massive fake grin on her face.
"Lydia! I've barely seen you in the past few days! How are you?" Chrissy asked, her voice too cheery for Lydia's liking.
Lydia took a small step back so the girl wasn't right in her face. "I've mostly been working, sadly. Not all of us have rich families." Lydia replied in the nicest tone she could. She wasn't in the mood for Chrissy but she didn't want to spoil the plan.
"Yeah, that sucks! Are you here alone?" Chrissy asked, brushing off Lydia's comment and looking around as if she was trying to spot someone.
Just as Lydia was about to reply Steve came round the corner of the aisle, two tubs of ice cream in his arms. "One strawberry and one chocolate!" He said excitedly as he placed them in the cart. Lydia couldn't help but chuckle at his enthusiasm.
