Shay didn't know how she managed to keep the act up all day but she had. At lunch she and Robin had sat outside to eat their lunch and they made it look like Robin was comforting her. Annoyingly, Chrissy seemed to pop up everywhere throughout the day.
Soon enough the final bell rang and Shay quickly walked to meet Robin at her locker so they could grab their stuff and meet Eddie outside. Robin grabbed her bike and together they loaded it into the back of Eddies van before both squeezing into the front seat.
"Is Steve working alone today?" Eddie asked as he drove out of the parking lot. Shay noticed he was looking much better than he had this morning.
"He is alone until 6 when Brenda starts. I'm pretty sure we can hatch a plan in 2 and a half hours!" Shay replied, rest her head on Robins shoulder.
"Shame we can't just dump her body in the Quarry!" Robin grumbled. She had always thought Chrissy was a spoilt, pick me girl and she was excited to bring the bitch down. "Everyone thinks she is so innocent and sweet. Makes me want to vomit!"
"Don't get me started! Her bug eyes creep me the fuck out!" Shay replied, shuddering.
"You two are mean. I fucking love it!" Eddie chuckled, shaking his head at pair.
A few moments later they pulled up outside Family Video and headed inside, happy to find that it was dead. Although that wasn't very surprising for a Monday.
"Hey, what are you three doing here?" Steve asked as he popped up from behind a display.
"We are here to plot revenge, Stevie boy!" Shay exclaimed, throwing her arms in the air for dramatic affect.
"Revenge?"
"Chrissy drugged me yesterday." Eddie said as he pulled himself up to sit on the counter.
"What? How can you say that so calmly?!" Steve yelled, making his way over to them and slapping Eddie lightly round the head. "Wait, how could she have drugged you?"
"That's what I want to know! They've made me wait all day too." Robin chimed in.
Shay and Eddie exchanged a look before Eddie started to explain what had happened the day before when Chrissy had come over, leaving out the part about him and Shay expressing their feelings. Steve and Robin listened quietly while Shay went into the back to make them all a coffee.
"That little bitch! Do you think she spiked the punch at my party too?" Shay heard Steve ask, followed by a bang. She had a feeling he had hit the counter in anger. She finished the last coffee and put them on a tray to carry out to her friends.
"Well she was there but anyone could have done it. Although it's not a coincidence she drugged Eddie a day later!" Robin said, chewing nervously on a pen.
"She used to be such a nice girl." Eddie said, shaking his head as he grabbed a mug.
"Oh Eds, she was never nice. She ditched you for popularity!" Shay reminded him. She felt butterflies in her stomach as he gave her a small smile and took her hand in his, giving it a squeeze. Robin and Steve were watching the pair closely, confused by the gesture.
Before any of them could say another word the bell above the door chimed, signaling a customer had come in. The four friends turned around and were all surprised to see Patrick McKinney walking towards them, a nervous look on his face.
"What are you doing here, jock?" Eddie asked, irritated by the guys presence.
"I know you don't like me, Munson, but I swear I'm here as a friend." Patrick said, rubbing the back of his neck nervously, like he always did. His eyes left Eddie and settled on Shay.
