After Shay had gotten home she had immediately showered and washed the events of the night before away. She couldn't be bothered to do her usual eye make up so she just added a bit of concealer and some mascara. She threw her hair up in a messy bun and picked out a casual outfit to wear for work under her vest.

Just as she was about to leave she stopped and stood at the front door, taking a deep breath and imagining putting a mask on. She was quite good at remaining emotionless and she was furious with herself for getting caught out earlier when Eddie had said he didn't remember anything. Once she was sure she was in no danger of breaking she left the house and locked up behind her, walking at a slow pace towards Steves.

Shay walked up the path to the house and was pleasantly surprised to see it no longer had red solo cups scattered around or halloween decorations like it had that morning when she'd left. Steve must have hired a cleaner, she thought to herself.

Unsurprisingly the front door wasn't locked and she let herself in, immediately hearing Robins voice coming from the kitchen. She smiled to herself as the smell of bacon wafted up her nose and she quickly followed the scent.

"Shay! Just in time for a late lunch!" Robin exclaimed, getting up from the kitchen island and pulling her into a hug. Steve was at the stove with his back to them, cooking bacon and eggs while also trying to make sure he didn't burn the french toast.

"Smells great! Glad I made it in time." Shay replied, giving her friend a squeeze before joining her at the island.

Once Steve had put the french toast on a plate and was sure the other things cooking would be okay for a bit he turned to Shay, a worried look on his face. "Are you okay?"

Shay nodded, her face void of any emotion. "I'm perfectly fine, Stevie boy. Why do you ask?"

"I'll drop it for now but I don't believe you for second!" Steve frowned as he turned back to the stove. Just as he started to dish up they heard heavy footsteps come down the stairs and Shay mentally braced herself to see Eddie again.

"Harrington, you are more than just a pretty face. You'd make a good house wife!" Eddie exclaimed, giving his friend a cheeky grin as he stepped into the kitchen and went to stand beside Steve. "First you take care of me and now you're cooking for me!"

"Yeah, yeah. Don't cream your pants, Munson." Steve scoffed. He pushed Eddie out of the way and took two plates over to the girls who were resting their heads on each other and playing a half hearted game of thumb war. As soon as the plates were set down in front of them they slapped each others hands away and immediately started to dig in.

Eddie and Steve each grabbed a plate and joined them on the opposite side of the island. Eddies eyes fixed on Shay, wondering why she was hadn't paid him any attention since he had come into the room. "Everything okay, Shay? You're awfully quiet?"

"Yeah, I'm okay. Just a bit hungover." The lie rolling off her tongue so easily. "How are you feeling? Still feeling shit?"

"I still feel pretty rough but Steve and Robin here looked after me pretty well! What errands did you have to run on a saturday morning?"

Shay froze for a second, mentally kicking herself for not thinking of something. She should have known he would ask her. "Er..."

"She forgot she promised Keith she would go on a snack run for the store. We forgot to place an order the other day." Steve quickly answered for her, giving her a quick nod that went unnoticed by Eddie.

Eddie frowned, slightly confused. "How did you get to the supermarket and then to the store? You don't have a car."

"Brenda, the new girl who does morning shifts, picked me up and we went together. Keith doesn't fully trust her yet." Shay said, silently thanking Steve for coming up with something she could easily add on to.
